I'd argue that Genshin is extremely different from BOTW; the similarities were only at launch with the first region looking out of BOTW but the combat and gameplay is really different overall and has kept its own identity.
That said, I also do agree that it may have had an influence. Genshin does a lot on the exploration side better than BOTW and TOTK and is massive to explore now, though the games are still different enough that both have merit in different ways.

| Genshin Impact is a decent game, but what makes it genshit is the arbitrary limits on playtime and the amount of microtransactions. This makes it p2w and attracts mostly rich pedophiles to the game. An offline genshin with regular dlc updates would probably win goty several times.
I tried genshin and thought te story and worlds were really well-thought-out.
