What are your favorite ps2 games, or the best games released on the console

I'm basic. I like Persona 4.
Atlus in general have a really good back catalog on the PS2. Digital Devil Saga, Raidou Kuzunoha.
Tales of the Abyss is still the best Tales of game. Also a lot of the Atelier games, Mana Khemia 1 and 2.
A bunch of Tony Hawk games.
Guitar Hero. The first game is PS2-only apparently. You can play it with just a regular Dualshock 2 stick.

Maan, I forgot what it's called... which is ironic because I think it had the word 'forgotten' in the title...

I really love Rule of Rose. The gameplay is awful and I can't in good conscience recommend it to anyone, but the plot and environments and everything are just so fascinating, and it does a lot of stuff I've never seen any other horror game do.

>>982376 Yeah! Burnout Revenge was suprisingly fun.
I played the absolute crap out of Disgaea and Odin Sphere and more jrpg:s than I can remember so I guess those were my favorites.

>>982521 I played 3, Revenge and Dominator. For some reason, the last one stuck out the most to me. The sense of speed in it was like nothing else.
For me, it's Ace Combat 04, Zero and 5. It's difficult to understate the emotional impact they had on me back when I was a small creature. The games could really use an HD remake though. (Was Hoffnung always so... flat?)

PS2 collecting dust? Try this!
If FAT, youer lucky :(. Anyway use OPL and somehow start your games from HDD.
Or if its SLIM, unfortunately USB speeds are bad for most games. However you can search "ESR patcher FreeDVDboot" by Jabu, and it runs without any modding! Just get some dusty unburned DVDs :p
A universal way of running ISOs is plugging Ethernet to a Raspberry Pi, or anything else as long as its using SMB. I've personally never done this, Samba ain't nice on Linux..

I run samba on my home server and don't have any issues, I don't use it with my ps2 though
OPL supports only smb1 which is unsafe to use on Windows (possibly unsafe on Linux to?) So using a pi is a good idea
There's a raspberry pi image that is supposed to be already set up for ps2 & PS3 I'm gonna try when I get the time
With the 700XX slim series you can actually solder an IDE connector to the board, I'm just not confident with my micro soldering skills :p
