When I feel like shit, I end up playing that same game I've already had hundreds of hours in. Which game is that for you?
For me it's The Sims and Skyrim, usually without mods (looking for mods need brain, I don't want that). Genshin is also recently turning into that. I just like wandering about and fucking around.

Death Stranding. Not a completely brainless game, but I find it relaxing enough to be meditative.

I liked to play Arcadey style games when I didn't want brain. I played like Osu or Tekken. It starts out fine until I start to lose. Then...well I used to stop playing in a much worse mood than I started. So I stopped playing.
For me when SWTOR is having its seasonal objectives missions its good to zone out to play, but when it doesn't have those I just log in and wonder wtf I'm supposed to be doing.

It used to be Natural Selection 2. I played that game so much I could play it on autopilot and still be an asset to my team. In retrospect I was probably addicted to it. That game scratched a certain itch that no other game managed to reach but I gradually stopped playing during the pandemic and never really got back to it.
Modded Skyrim and VTMB are other games I've played too many times and lately I've been playing High on Life when I want to cheer myself up.

Somehow HELLDIVERS of all games became my brain-off game for several years, with Breath of the Wild (and now Tears of the Kingdom) as my other main pick

>>969994 I honestly do not get this, I don't play touhou, but most of the time shumps feel more like a rapid shot of intensity crammed in like 30 mins than they do relaxing. Maybe if you play on novice or you have such intuitive knowledge of the game that your not consciously thinking about most of your actions?

>>970173 Unlike some shumps, the bullets in Touhou tend to be very dense but also very slow. There's also almost no RNG. At some point, you got enough muscle memory in that you don't end up thinking much when playing.
Also, Touhou is pretty. Looking at the pretty bullet patterns can be relaxing.

Any multiplayer fps game, but mainly Apex. Been getting into atena shooters too, so am enjoying Devil Daggers and Swarmlake.
