Games people shoul avoid

| Name me a particular game (or more than one) that according to your own experience should be avoided at all costs.

| should*

| YIIK

| No

| Elona

| Bad rats

| With sufficiently many people responding, eventually every game in existance would have been named.

| >>961138 I FRIIKING LOVE YIIK

| any online game that require granding to have fun, is just time waste

| Overwatch 2

The community around it (except for porn) is toxic, but even worse is that the devs are beholden to management that only cares about money. Good updates only come if management is convinced it will increase profits. The recent PvE controversy is the best example of this, but everywhere you look Overwatch 2 is designed to milk whales and nothing else.

| >>961264 man you're so right: that game just become even worse than the previous shitty game and I can barely believe it.

| Any single player game with mandatory online connection

| Warriors/Musou game. I just played warriors orochi after not playing any warrior games for years. Didn't expect anything but still got disappointed.

Seriously, even gacha/mobile game nowadays have better gameplay than the same shit warriors games peddle for decades with little to no improvement.

| >>923524
You're 100% right.

| Tom Clancy's HAWX 1 & 2. The first one is "only" mediocre (if a tad silly), the second one is a blight upon humanity. Both are a waste of time.

| do not play video games
do not engage with video game posters
do not artificially engage the reward system
detoxify yourself and face to boredom

|

| I feel like Minecraft in the current form is unplayable. Buggy and the worlds are infinite so I can't find shit!

| >>a150de you trippin, minecraft is still good

| >>961563 bedrock bad Java good

| Actually Bedrock is better optimised than Java, also you can play with friends and don't need own server

| >>961572 nah minecraft is ass, you get diamond gear in under half an hour and even though netherite exists it is pointless, and anything you build serves zero functional purpose, and even if you make a massive town it will be a ghost town, you can put some villagers in there but it will still feel that way

they have had over 10 years of updates and instead of following the terraria way with meaningful progression they added 8 types of sand and countless other useless blocks

| I miss when the Nether was a chill place

| >>961699 okay but on Java I won't mysteriously take fall damage while standing still, can host multiplayer without a server, and get to use redstone devices designed by engineers in their spare time. Bedrock is fine for normies but it falls apart at the seams once the world size gets too big

| Anyways to make up for continuing the derail, avoid Pokemon Unite in all but casual play

The gameplay itself is actually fun but the monetization is everywhere and is literally pay-to-win. And don't get me started on all the bots used to fill up empty lobbies...

| >>961775 just in general avoid mobile games that are taking an existing well known series. Like look at how many naruto, dragon ball, or sword art online mobile games that have been made and EOS-ed now.

They have to purchase the license from the right holder and they'll make sure to get it back. Racking money from people reaching their 30's who were growing up with these series who never care if a game is p2w or not.

| Gacha games. All of them, no exceptions.

| >>961872
Wise words

| >>961872
Rip tears of the kingdom. Its got zaonite gatcha

| Zeonite? Too lazy to see what the proper spelling is

| >>c55761 Zaonite gacha is not pay to win, every machine tells you what items they offer and if you put 3 zonan artifacts you get all of those (at last x1 of each), also the zonan thingies used in the machines are free and there is no way to buy one with real money

| Fortnite

| Avoid most AAA games. Most of them are not worth playing.

| Witcher 1

| yes

| Any Assassin's Creed game after Origins

| Dear fucking god, Five Nights at Freddy's Security Breach. Holy fucking shit, you'd think a game series that spawned its own horror genre would be able to do something great and fun and interesting with a huge budget for once and being free roam but it is unironically the worst fucking video game ever. No game has ever made me so furious at how fucking bad it is.

| Worst part was when they brought back the villain from the previous games AGAIN but now the books are actually saying it's not the original villain (known for being a corpse in a yellow bunny robot), this is just a different yellow bunny robot minicking him with a corpse of some random teenager named Kelly and it was made by some random engineer once to let his son not be bored while he's at work. This is the worst fucking video game.

| Aside from that, Corpse Party is also fucking atrocious, original was revolutionary for its time for the horror rpg genre but Dear Fucking Lord is the remake terrible. There's a whole fucking part where the main protag's sister needs to pee so they are just looking for a bathroom while in a demon school realm. Like my dude, there's buckets everywhere, please. And in the end, she still pisses herself because something scary happens. Why does this game care so much about her pissing.

| >>962838
By the remake, you mean Blood Covered? Damn g/u/rl, I feel like you're being a bit harsh. The "anime bullshit" is annoying, but nothing unusual for the genre. The rest of it was servicable, and I liked the ending. A lot of games fall apart at the end, but I think this one was good, though not amazing by any measure.
Though, it's been more than a decade since I played it. That's a long time. Long enough to form a rose-tinted glass over my eyes.

| >>a3689e I played Blood Covered Repeated Fear (3DS version) about 4 years ago, it's just really not that great. It's not the worst thing ever (Security Breach exists), and it has some alright puzzles but when you have to redo two hours of progress because the game permanently locks the ending into a gameover and doesn't tell you it did, it's just... really not good.

At that point you can just play any other game in the genre and be better off.

| >>962864
Ooh, that's not great, I wouldn't like that either. Can't blame you. I played the PC version (not the Steam one, it didn't exist back then), and I don't remember if it shared the same problem.
