I always wanted to pick it up but since I have adhd I'm afraid to find it boring since some of my friends told me it has less variety than other rpgs.
G/u/rls tell me why it's such a great game without spoilers.

Skyrim?? Good?? lmao don't you know we only play it because todd howard has cursed us all
Ok in all seriousness, it's a good time. Definitely dated by today's standard, but it's got all the charms of an open world game (assuming you like to explore vast cold plains. Don't expect, like, forests thriving with life).
Idk, it's a game I play when I feel like shit and it's comfortable, you know. It doesn't demand much, but there's always something I can fuck around with.

(1/2) i completed a few playthroughs between 2012-2016, it was fun at first but eventually i realized the game is really shallow. the combat is hack and slashy, playstyles and skills arent balanced (most are useless), random encounters are limited and actually scripted rather than random, and yeah the world is pretty to look at but its not believable once you notice a few patterns

(2/2) i was saying for years that the game is shallow and mediocre but always got shit on by people because bethesda had an untouchable aura until fallout 76 (kinda like how cdpr was untouchable until cyberpunk)
the truth is if skyrim is your first "RPG" it can be fun but thats all, a decent entry to those games but ultimately super average and mediocre

>>960459 It's not. Skyrim is a game for babies. >>960480 Skyrim was dated when it came out. It was the same as Morrowind and Oblivion but even more stripped down with nothing added, so it's basically a 2002 game, but worse.

>>960491 seconding this, I had a blast playing it when I first build my pc 6 years ago. Even after 1 or 2 dozzen of PC games, skyrim is still on my top 5 list at that time.
But then over the years, I played witcher 3; it is so much better that I can't go back to skyrim. Fallout 4 got released and I didn't even have a the intention to try that game as the whole "Bathesda makes good game" falls apart when, on the broader view, their games are extremely overhyped and underdelived.

>>960508 I wish Skyrim and oblivion were the same as Morrowind
Op yes Skyrim good there's tons of things to do if you wander in any directions you'll find something pretty quickly be that a cave or bandit camp or whatever
Combat feels not good but more impactful than oblivion shouts are lots of fun, snag the game on sale and worst case scenario you just use it for the sex mods if you don't enjoy the game itself
