Detective/Cop Games

| Return of the Obra Dinn doesn't feature a "detective" or a "crime" in the traditional sense but it's without a doubt the best detective game that has ever existed.
I also recommend Paradise Killer, a neonpunk cosmic horror murder mystery open world game.
Also, Disco Elysium. It's a lot bigger than just the murder you're trying to solve, but it fits the bill.
| Since no one else has mentioned it yet, I'm gonna be That Person and say Danganronpa. Plays a lot like Phoenix Wright except with more filler and degeneracy

I think Wolf Among Us should count because you do more detective work in that game than most games where you play a real cop/detective, like the Max Payne series for example.

Seconding beat cop. You literally play a cop on his beat, what’s more of a cop game than that

2064 Read Only Memories, for if you like VA-11 Hall-A. Adventure game, involves True AI, kidnapping and murder.
Gunpoint. Freelance detective jumping stealth platformer. Short and really good.
| I genuinely recommend Hotel Dusk 215 and it's sequel Last Window:The secret of Cape West.
