| Sekien no Inganock has a dope-ass setting, dope-ass art style, banging soundtrack, some literal banging (a pro or a con for some) and a fairly intriguing story. The minigame between chapters sucks balls though, definitely grab a guide for that.

Oh damn I was going to mention Pyre as well but was worried it's not the kind of visual novel that op meant. Pyre's great, and I do feel like it's more a visual novel with the occassional fantasy football than the other way around.

I mean, story focused games and visual novels are two different things. Night in the Woods has a big focus on story, but it's not a visual novel. It just has a lot of dialogue.
I can't speak for Pyre though. Haven't played it.
