What's a game that you love that is very complicated and that it can take tens of hours to properly learn the mechanics of. That you've spent way too much of your life learning in-depth about, but you don't regret it?

No, it's not worth the time. No actual overcomplicated game is worth your time. Simply because it's about having fun from the start, which can't be obtained with 100 pages of rules or 100 playable roles.
I will never get the enjoyment from RPs. Too much work for too little serotonin

Sorry I never have the time to play a game that'll take me tens of hours to properly learn

>>722834 I wanted to name Heroes too, but the games aren't complicated and be easily broken (s.e. any Sseth video)

I would say Dwarf Fortress but Dwarf Fortress isn't too complicated, it is perfect exactly as Armok intended
So instead I'll say Victoria 2

Actually I take that back, Victoria 2 is complicated but never unnecessarily so. A fully loaded EU4 with all the DLC is much worse, the various DLC mechanics like Piety or the Mandate are neat, but when you combine them all together the game gets a little unwieldy.

Dunno if it really counts, but I'd name Rain World. It's not like there is a lot of depth to the game's mechanics, but it does take you a lot of time to learn how to properly play the game

Fucking Factorio, man. So good, but optimizing everything is just... Oof. Zachtronics puzzle games are kinda in the same vein. Kinda.

To the guy who said Dwarf Fortress isn't complicated... screw you. It takea hours of menues and rules to even know what you are looking at. And then, once you knoe, is time to lear what to do.
Once you figure it all out, it isn't hard super, sure. But to get there you have to go thru a lot.

Another I love, that is not *that* complicated but still. Oxigen Not Included!
It's complicated near the late-game when you want to set up everything automatically and not let your colony slowly die... which usually leads to some change that ends up... killing everyone for overseeing something minor... . _.

Apparently some people have a hard time getting the hang of The World Ends With You. I can kinda see that, what with battling on both screens, all battle actions are tied to stylus actions, and modifying drop rates by lowering your level.

>>723477 Touchscreen controls are just kinda ass, no offense. Still better than whatever Switch got in docked mode though, I guess. And keeping track of both screens is a pain in the ass sometimes, yeah.

>>723479 it felt weird playing it for the first time when I snagged a copy a couple years ago, but by the end of my first playthrough I could just keep myself at level 1 because I got used to the movement and I killed everything decently quick. The Switch port felt so weird i couldn't finish the first week, but I'll prob try it again at some point.
