Nah I'm sorry but you happened to cross by the uncle of Nintendo. It's Johnny Silverhand alongside an annoucement for Cyberpunk 2077 on the new Nintendo device code name N DualX. There is also a amiibo costume of Anna Graem on the same trailer, as both are the same concept and tomorrow a Nintendo Direct will happen showing N1rv ann-a's exclusive functions on the new N DualX.

Now there will be 1 more FF song!
Jokes aside, looks like Cloud will get an update (or just exclusive smash when fighting Sephiroth)?
When every franchise will have a second character but Sonic.

>>722842 Even if there's no special shit with Cloud, it's still really fucking sick that they added Sephiroth. I wish they would stop trying to kill Smash though. Like, fuck sake. Why hurt the Smash community in so many different ways right before an announcement of a beloved, iconic character? Big retard.
Post number #722940, ID: 00256f

>>722937 It's not the devs who are doing so, it's the comunity, have you seen how much hate have been around Sephiroth on Twitter? Since Ultimate release, every time there is a new character hate comes towards it, no matter how iconic it is no one is happy anymore because it's not who they wanted, comparing fucking Geno (no ofense) to Sephiroth for example. Back in Brawl times Sephiroth was more wished than even Cloud. Smash comunity became more toxic than Sonic's or LoL's

>>722940 Bruh. I'm not referring to people hating on characters. That's always gonna happen, no matter the game, no matter the community. Is it retarded? Sure, but it's a given and it doesn't change shit.
What I'm talking about when I say "trying to kill Smash" is how they just killed Melee and keep trying to fuck over every single part of the competitive community.
Post number #722953, ID: 00256f

>>722951 exactly this is where I was going to (forgot to post a second message lol), again this is the community who is killing all the good reputation Melee had after destroying Brawl's and 4's. All of Melee's content is in Ultimate and all Melee fans can do is shit on the father of their girlfriend just because they can't get over their nostalgia.

Melee is the reason why Smash and Nintendo are never taken seriously outside and why no one wants to be related to Nintendo's tournaments, is not because of Nintendo, is because Smash players are scary as hell and they are always on some serious shit. The FreeMelee shit could have been solved just following legal ways to play Online but again, it's Melee fans who we are talking about. They would literally kill like it was some serious religious shit.

>>722954 I'm gonna have to stop you there. Nintendo is actively stopping anything regarding melee because "following legal ways" is just unbearable. Want a melee (or ANY nintendo game) tournament? Pay up the unnecessaryly expensive license that would make any reasonable tournament holders go "F*ck no" and do something else.
And it doesn't stop there. All the anti online stuff Nintendo is putting just cuz it's not "technically" legal is just unnecessary. (1/2)

So, Nintendo needs to stop being so tight about their backwards and VERY old school tendencies and start actually listening to it's community. The competitive scene of smash might be toxic and Nintendo might not want to be directly involved, and that's fine... but that's not a reason to stright up do whatever they can to stop it. And again, this extend to much more than just smash. (2/2)

>>722956 as I have stated before on /u/, an Online tournament of Melee can be hold with just 1 console and 1 game for everyone, without any risk of a participant leaking a dump of the game to the Internet, there you have legality, the Parsec way since 2016 and 100% Melee experience.
Post number #722969, ID: 00256f

No, Nintendo is not shutting down anything about Melee, again Nintendo didn't want a risk of a dump leak and they alerted but weren't heard, instead they are "the bad guys" in this story. Splatoon was shutdown because of the FreeMelee movement, because unlike probably you, most FreeMelee supporters support piracy and throw hate to Nintendo, an a tournament full of hate... fight a corporate and it will fight back 100 times. Those are who Nintendo are shutting down.

if FreeMelee people just shut their mouth the tournaments would have happened and they wouldn't be burying their own gravestone.
FreeMelee is why we can't have beauty things last long from Nintendo (the few that happen). Nintendo doesn't hate Melee, if so Sakurai would have been living under a bridge for 13 years now. If you just don't fuck around Nintendo will agree with everything like hackroms and the Etikons.

Is not Nintendo who is killing Melee, is Melee extreme fans who are doing so, slowly (lately faster than light) burying a hole no one will be able to rescue them (not that they want to, of course, you can make a game inspired fully on Melee and Melee fans would still only go for Melee like not even FIFA or COD fans would)

>>722971 I mean, I'm sorry homie. I just heavily disagree with you. Your whole thing about all of Melees content being in Ultimate is just incorrect and shows how little you know about the games. They work very differently and have different mechanics. They are separate games.
Nintendo doesn't lose money on letting them be, it's the opposite. The Melee community has given Smash a fuck ton of free advertisement and is one of the reasons people buy the newer games. It was for me.

>>722970 Nintendo have actually been continuously fucking over the Melee scene repeatedly ever since the world became aware of it. They've just paint kept it behind the scenes.
If you did genuine research on this instead of making assumptions from an outsider perspective you would be aware of that.
Also, blaming the Melee community for all the other retarded shit Nintendo does is just purely ignorant. It's unrelated.

I love Nintendo. I love their games and I love a lot of the stuff that they do. But I disagree with some of the things they do, like this, because they don't get anything out of doing it. They don't gain anything from it, but they still decide to fuck people over.

>>722971 I see your point in all your posts, but I just don't agree with your logic. You see, the problem with the tournaments go further than just your "legal" way of holding them. There have been licensing issues that have caused nintendo to cancel some events. And "just" because some people might dump code which has already been dumped ages ago is just petty. Another thing is the FreeMelee. I don't care about the movement too much, but you cannot just cancel something (1/2)

Because you don't agree with their philosophies?! We are not talking about the Spatoon people were doing shady stuff. They just supported the Melee Movement. If your response as a company is "OH, you agree with the people we don't? Well F*ck you too" well... that's pretty incompetent. Sure, you are in your right to do whatever you want. Nintendo indeed is doing everything "legally" on their rights. But that's doesn't make it good or specially likeable F*ck that controlling ideology

Oh, final note. About the parsec method you mentioned. So I didn't know about this before hand, but is it really reliable? Cuz streaming a game thru the internet for both players just sounds like a terrible latency issue for a fighting game. At least for tournament standards. I doubt it would be nearly as good (connectivity wise) as an emulated copy with a good netcode. (Cuz you know... Nintendo... or japan actually, never cared about netcode until this year :/).

>>722954 "just follow legal ways to play online"
So here's the problem with that.
Emulation is legal as I'm sure many have stated but those cases involved discs that could be read with a normal optical disc drive
The DMCA prevents you from circumventing "digital locks" so if you can't read it on your pc (you can't) you can't legally use a rom of that game
So what you're left with legally is playing melee on a gamecube, which has no online

This also makes >>722968 exactly as illegal as slippi btw

The law isn't a judge of what's moral, Nintendo is right here legally
But preventing people from playing their favorite game online in the middle of a pandemic, where if they were to gather could literally kill people, is morally bankrupt and is the reason #freemelee exists
