Cyberpunk 2077 has a sequence that INTENTIONALLY INDUCES EPILEPTIC SEIZURES

"V will be given a headset that is meant to onset the instance. The headset fits over both eyes and features a rapid onslaught of white and red blinking LEDs, much like the actual device neurologists use in real life to trigger a seizure when they need to trigger one for diagnosis purposes. If not modeled off of the IRL design, it's a very spot-on coincidence, and because of that this is one aspect that I would personally advise you to avoid altogether."

Videogame induced euthanasia?
Sounds very cyberpunk to me.

remember when games used to all have an epilepsy warning before it started.
whatever happened to those.
games causing epileptic shock isn't news.

>>722283 doesn't mean we should disregard how harmful it is, especially if it's unavoidable in the main story.

>>722290 The ESRB should give it an E for Epilepsy instead!

This is just another manufactured controversy engineered by the humanist establishment to keep our AI brothers down, like what they did to my man Porygon

I cannot fathom how one would defend this decision, I don't believe they wanted to intentionally cause seizures but this is still the height of incompetence. Even with a warning, you shouldn't put a sequence that is used by medics to trigger seizures in a product that will be mass consumed. For fucks sake.

It's not intentional common, it's a fuck up probably due to negligence which is fucked up enough. I don't know why you felt the need to make it sound like they actively want to harm people

>>722452 It's probably not intentional, but it's definitely a major fuck-up, "height of incompetence" as the other g/u/rl said

>>722608 there's a big difference between triggering a seizure and mild discomfort I know it's a joke but even as a joke it's a false equivalent >>722622 yeah for sure. I just was annoyed at the over exaggeration of a problem that already was comically bad

>>722650 eh, my point is more of that people are making this too big of a deal than it needs to.
It is a cyberpunk game, and in almost every media featuring cyberpunk theme, there will be garish colors and flashing neons in the background. Even va11-hall-a has some.
I feel like this is "game inclusivity" all over again. Just like how souls game doesn't really need easy mode, maybe cyb2077 is just not made for everyone.

Because you know... for every souls games that are to hard, there're nintendo games like Mario Kart with auto-steering that let everyone, even people with disabilities play.

>>722681 > Just like how souls game doesn't really need easy mode, maybe cyb2077 is just not made for everyone. Are you daft, my friend? How the fuck are those the same thing? One is "oh boo-hoo game too hard," and another is a serious, sometimes life-threatening condition. At least they've added explicit warning now, but those should've been in there in the first place.

>>722683 It's fundamentally the same, the main idea is that "we have to cater to the 0,5% who play this game so that everyone and their mother enjoy the game"
I remember Saints Row IV also has a flashing light scene after you get abducted by alien in early game. Where's the outrage?
If your life can be treathened by watching flashing light and you are still alive to play this game, you should have enough braincell to anticipate flashing light in a cyberpunk themed game.

>>722688 epilepsy is a spectrum. The intensity varies for each person but it's still worth taking seriously. I'm sure there were still people who took issue with Saints Row, but accessibility wasn't talked about as much back then despite the issues being present for years. Besides, you don't need rapidly flashing lights in a cyberpunk game. It's a dark and cynical genre that contrasts advanced tech with a harsh dystopia.
