I've never been able to get into Suda's games. Kike I know they have a style but they honestly look so half finished and barely conceptualised

Never finished NM1 but loved to freeoram a lot on it and I felt so scammed with 2 having no more freeroam I stopped giving a shit about NMH. Until NMH3 was annouced as there is no confirmation about how the gameplay will be, I will definetly play it if there is freedom and secondary stuff.

If you love the storytelling style of NMH1, definitely play Travis Strikes Again. Suda returns to directing/writing with a very personal and introspective attitude towards gaming. He wasn't in charge of NMH2, which is why the tone and themes were all over the place. Gameplay-wise, it's a step up because jumping and skill chips offer more combat options.
If you're a fan of other Grasshopper Manufacturer games, TSA connects to them and forms a "Suda-verse".
