| One of the thousand reasons I don't watch Twitch at all. Chat is annoying, distracts the streamers, some even place chat in video making it imposible to hide. But that's how Streamers have to get money, so.

This. Spamming is the equivalence of sport chants or cheering or hand-clapping.
It depends on the streamers too. Most streamer's chats are peaceful. It's just the big names that tend to be spammy.
I also find it fascinating how new slangs pop up there, how it's helped by the emoji system, how it's carried into verbal communication. Probably a whole master's thesis on linguistics right there.

The appeal of live content is that you can interact the streamer but because chat moves so fast there's really no point in trying to say something that's longer than a sentence. that's just how it is and if it bothers you then just close chat or watch the vods there's no point getting mad at it
