defend twitch chat

| I thought youtube stream chat are bad with people spamming the same thing when something happens but twitch chat spams the same thing when NOTHING happens what

| twitch chat is a very sacred place

| Where else am I supposed to lose my faith in humanity if not there?

| Spamming can be fun and make people feel like a community, it's the equiavalent of crowds chanting at a sports thing

| It's fine as long as it stays on twitch
Once people start unironically saying poggers and monkas and shit like that outside of twitch it's cringe

| One of the thousand reasons I don't watch Twitch at all. Chat is annoying, distracts the streamers, some even place chat in video making it imposible to hide. But that's how Streamers have to get money, so.

| no

| Uhhhhhh

| >>709355 that's not very poggers of you

| >>709342
This. Spamming is the equivalence of sport chants or cheering or hand-clapping.

It depends on the streamers too. Most streamer's chats are peaceful. It's just the big names that tend to be spammy.

I also find it fascinating how new slangs pop up there, how it's helped by the emoji system, how it's carried into verbal communication. Probably a whole master's thesis on linguistics right there.

| >>709444 like I said, people seem to spam when NOTHING happens. I saw one stream where the streamer hadn't said anything and some people just spam pepeHands without context. do people clap and cheer when they watch TV before the show even start? I don't think so. then again maybe not all streamer but what I'm trying to say is sometimes I can't tell if chat is real or everyone is a spambot.

| >>709631 It was probably an inside joke. Or they were just showing excitement because the stream was about to start. The appeal of live content is that you can interact the streamer but because chat moves so fast there's really no point in trying to say something that's longer than a sentence. that's just how it is and if it bothers you then just close chat or watch the vods there's no point getting mad at it

| >>709667 you can't close the chat if it appears as an overlay in the stream. Plus, the streamer would occasionally interacr with the chat, so it's just unavoidable.

| >>710076
Sounds like you just don't like how the streamer does their thing, then. Just find another streamer? Maybe ditch streaming and just watch let's play. That's still a thing.

| >>710112 Speedrunning or serious streamers. But yeah just fuck Twitch.

| Twitch chat >>>>>> youtube chat.

Looks better, better emotes and more importantly. People are better at being stupid. I rest my case.

| One more thing.
Twitch chat has literally beat more games than youtube.

| >>710244 that's not true at all, Youtube monetization beated more games than Twitch chat.

| >>710256 ???? What does this mean?

| >>710256
did you have a stroke

| >>710322 >>710447 a joke on how many let's plays and walktrhough might have been taken down because of monetization issues.

| Okay but what does this >>710244 mean??

| >>710507
Look up Twitch Plays Pokemon and you'll be in for a treat.

... in fact, just look Twitch Plays -Anything- because they have done so many of these is just insane.

... I mean, they beat Dark Souls! xD

| >>710507 Twitch chat vs Youtube chat* probably rather than Twitch chat vs just Youtube. But it's absurd to say so as anyone could just program the same thing for Youtube streamings. The tool is not exclusive, just not many people are interested in doing so as people prefer to waste money called bits, just like a casino.

| Botj are cool for different resons, twitch chat is a bit more cancer but thats just cuz people on twitch are overall more active and invested on the live since people who use twich are there for the live and not just the video aspect like it is on youtube
