Map games

| Hearts of Iron 4 and Crusader Kings 3 have been eating so much of my time lately....staring at a map in a game and just doing stuff is so relaxing

| Maps are good. On a completely unrelated genre, have you ever played Etrian Odyssey?

| Aw yeah Etrian Odyssey's the good shit

| >>f8067a i've heard good things

| Would love conventional strategy games were a thing

| Well color me surprised. I was talking about map games in the strategy thread, and didn't notice this one here.

Might as well ask... Can you understand Vicky II enough to play it?

| >>f63202 nope, the vicky 2 economy is fucking insane. It's also archaic in every other sense lol

| To me it feels like a puzzle, and the population just happened to elect a blind person to office.

Haven't played it a lot. Mostly south america and prussia.

What I gather from that is that social reforms equals lots of inmigrants for your industry, but actually paying those pensions makes money line go brrrrr.

And I don't plan to let the liberals win the elections ever again! Those explosive factories need subsidies!

| I'm a communist and I can't figure out how to make command economy work in Vicky 2 and it makes me wanna become a libertarian

| >>706867 A badly set up economy gets fucked the second libs come in power, as someone who lives in east bloc IRL can confirm is realistic.

So the idea I get is that with almost all startdate nations get state capitalism to manually set up a good chain of factories (for same province bonus), research econ tech for more bonuses and only then let the capitalist parasites take over (as I think their econ policy gives another bonus plus automatisation)

| Yeah State Capitalism is what I usually go for just because I don't trust myself more than the AI but also sometimes you need to shut shit down
