I have 215 games. 54 are in my "I'm done with this" category, 8 are in 100% achievements, 30 are in my "played enough of but come back to every once in a while", and 10 are in ungodly # of hours. that makes 102 games out of 215 that I've gotten good value from.
35 are in partially complete. 46 are never played! that makes 81 I haven't gotten to yet. Everything else is uncategorized (unplayed), a virtual novel/4X strat that I got for cheap and will never play, or a VR game.

I try to keep all of my family sharing slots in use, so other people can use my collection, and make recommendations to my friends. As to whether it's a sickness: I've always been a little dissatisfied with the rate at which I feel like I need new games, because I sometimes skip a lot of content in games I enjoy. To combat that, I started a project to categorize them all and make a play order. That being said, it's mostly large bcs I've been collecting for a while.

I don't know why you should feel bad about it. I know A LOT of people who collect books and have only read a fraction of it. Pretty sure stacking up on works of culture has been a thing since the medieval age.

My library actually have something over 2k games, but some people in real life was often asks things like "why you have so much games?" "did you played them all?" and so.. i wish to play them all, but time is sadly hard to control.. i did start hiding games in my libary what i consider as finished and don't plans to return them.. other way i'm using library categories categorised by name of game publishers.. rest is uncategorised >>692726 it is really nice from you <3

OP, just think about books, it's not so different. I have a few thousands of them, I haven't read half. It's just some sort of consumerism-hoardism which is perfectly acceptable nowadays.

But having a library filled with books is cool and it makes you totally look smart.
Having a steam library of games isn't something you can easily show off and if you do it'll make you look rich.

>>692895b This misconception is stupid and we should change it. Video games and books are equally likely to be trash and equally likely to be highly intellectual works of art. Same thing with movies.

>>692895 It's still seen in Steam (xxx owns this game; xxx is currently playing at yyy), so you can show-off. And people cyber-stalk each other, so the n of hours played can be (and sometimes is) easily known.

>>692988 But Epic is something different.. people on Steam really pay for games, and aren't there giveaways like on Epic so common

I hid my 3500 hours of Dota 2 forever. The only thing I regretted in my life.

>>693150 Yes "^^ it is more close to 3k with rounding to thousands.. i have Steam 6 years.. But i'm of course buying in summer sales using websites like HB, Fanatical and so.. it would be financial suicide buying games for full price
>>693175 i have for example 1K in MTA:RP "^^ but luckily it's not counting publically, people can just see 200 hours in gta:sa what i never played without MTA mod xd
