Great games make me feel horrible

| I don't know what the hell is wrong with me, but I cannot fully enjoy greatly made games as they leave me feeling like shit when I finish them. What would be the best way to describe this?.. I've just finished Hyper Light Drifter, for example, and this game is so good, so beautiful, so touching and emotional that realization of the fact that such a wonderful thing has come to an end is devastating for me.

| Maybe I'm just being a little bit too sensitive here, but every encounter with something amazing leaves me in a rather sad mood. Welp... that's not the worst thing in the world, I guess?

| But damn HYD is good. And so every other game that've left me in such a state. Love 'em with all my heart (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ)

| That's one of the reasons why i rarely finish the games i play

| Maybe it's cuz of all the bittersweet endings that good games leave you with?

Maybe, but I feel the same way even if the ending was actually 'good' for the main character and the entirety of the game's world.

I guess I'm just a bit too.. emotional? Probably that

| I feel like this with books tbh

| Sounds like a positive horrible. For a second I thought you mean playing good games make you feel like shit because you'll never be able to make something as good.

| Luckily for you, OP, there are many more great games to play after to cheer you up. I get sad when I finish a good anime or manga, but the only thing to do is move on.

Another game that reminded me of HLD is fez. If you like puzzles and exploration, you may want to give it a shot.

| >>69a325 same, especially if I get attached to the characters and that books world itself. It feels painful that the characters you adore doesnt actually exist and you shall forever feel the void they leave inside your heart
