Pixel games with great storyline pls

| Im really into the vibe of pixel art in vidya and im a huge fan of rpg.
I just finished Bear's restaurant and it was sooo nice uknow? And i really want something like that so if u have recommendations pls comment ; u ;

| Sry I don't have recomandations, but 480p games like Valhalla(well its 640x360) looks gorgeous on my new crt monitor whith the scanlines and all.

| To the moon
A ton of old rpgs

| I played quite a few, most of these involve horror in addition to a great story:
-> IB (this one is a MUST)
-> The witch's house
-> Mad father (good one, but the worst out of the trio imo)

| Dead cells
Stardew Valley
Azure striker gunvolt
Shantae
Disgaea

| LISA:The painful and it's sequel LISA: The joyful. Amazing games! Although it may be not exactly what you are looking for, I strongly recommend checking them out.

OFF is a masterpiece, you should definately try it

Littlewood

One Shot is really nice but pretty short

| No one said UNDERTALE yet? Interesting

| Shovel Knight is one of my favorite games ever, so I'll say that. The story is kinda basic, but it's still sweet and doesn't play off as corny or cliche.

| The Red Strings Club is pixel bartender game kind of like Valhalla that explores morality and the ethics of modifying your body. I don't know too much though because every time I restart it I get sidetracked lol.

| Iconoclasts

Anything by Wadjet Eye (especially Unavowed and the Blackwell series)

| Holy shit how could I forget Celeste? It's fucking amazing! And Katana Zero! And Asdivine Dios is kind of just a me thing, but you might like it too. There's also Time Spinner but I never finished that so I can't give an informed opinion, but the art and combat are pretty nice. And Dead Cells and Gungeon if you like run based games.

LISA: The Hopeful as well, my personal fav

I'd also say 'No Delivery' by Oates but it is very light on story and heavier on survival horror/puzzle room and rpg elements

| A lot of amazing games have been said, so I'll just add CrossCode.

| Oneshot, a game that hit me in the feels. Theres also a game that a developer by temmie (or tem) just made so check that out too.

| The Messenger and look out for a prequel in development, Sea of Stars

| CrossCode, Papers Please, Not Tonight

| the story is told out of order and you have to do some digging but Hotline Miami 1+2 tell a really interesting story

| Katana Zero : You'll thank me later..

| The final station, Katana Zero, Pokémon Ranger 2,Chrono Trigger, Iconoclast

| >>688888 bumping katana zero
>>688991 bumping one shot

| >>688804
the quizzes were fun i guess. otherwise is just transhumanist propaganda

| >>688727 dead cells has a story?

| I can only add Hyper Light Drifter and Dragon Marked for Dead.
But not much, people here are much better cultured than I expected.
It makes me so happy to read Oneshot being mentioned before Undertale :'3cc

| >>688712 Whoops with blankposting, but anyways...

I wouldn't agree that Ib had a super good plot or anything, but definitely agree with The Witch's House. Especially with the prequel novel (and the novel getting a manga adaptation), it's just really good.

OP, you should also try END ROLL. That game is fucked up but has a really good plot.

| >>691512 i gotchu g/u/rl

| >>691512 oh no i saw in another thread that HLD was so good it made them sad when it ended. Gurl im scared

| The Wolrd Ends With You is kinda pixellated outside cutscenes, and that game has everything, including amazing story.

| *World
The one time autocorrect doesn't bitch at me

| >>689960 katana zero... good story but the fact that it ends on a cliffhanger (and was pretty short) and clearly will be continued makes it not a game I'd super recommend for plot. Probably eventually if the game gets its dlc and once the story comes to a close, but right now there is are so many loose threads.

Thrust me, the game is so good it will make you sad but in a good way.
It will sadden the good out of you!
