What Minecraft version is the best?

| I have stopped playing back when Beta 1.8 came out. I resintalled Beta 1.7.3 now and it feels quite dull. At the same time I have tried the most recent 1.16 but it also feels somewhat.. boring. There might be A LOT of stuff but I can't really find the point to play it anymore. What should I do? Also I don't care about multiplayer. I always played singleplayer.

| I mean if you're not interested in both older and newest version maybe it's just not for you now

| 1.0.0 till 1.2.5 for me
I like the most recent updates too but that timeline of updates was the big peak for me and my friend

| It sounds like you just, like, don't really enjoy Minecraft anymore. The newest versions are literally just the old versions but with more things to do and with much better endgame. So, it sounds like Minecraft just ain't your thing.

Agreed.

The only thing you can probably do to regain that old love for minecraft is to either play with mods or play multiplayer. As far as modpacks go I like Voltz, Big Dig, and oddly enough tekkit lite.

| when I play minecraft I just chill in it like it's not really a game where you do things. not even the building stuff really matters. it's a game for meditating or something like that. recently I've been playing it with a friend and whenever we're inside we start talking about stuff we normally don't talk about because either of us are usually busy with something, but not in minecraft when we're both just chilling. so it's that kind of game.

| 1.7.9 is my ultimate version because of nostalgia

| Version 69.4.20

| I know you are not refering to this type of Minecraft versions but I need to say it. Bedrock is the best version. Combat (will be changed some time as well as Java) is simple, the content is the same as Java and it has Crossplatform. Also performance, you can enable 50 chunks and there are no issues at all, while in Java 14 chunks it's the average players can have (without 3rd party softwares like Optifine).
Back to topic, Bedrock is like release 1.0 Java but newer content.

| >>686836 towards the point of playing Minecraft. Don't play like everyone else pretends it to be played. Minecraft is a sandbox after all. There is nowhere that tells you how you have to play the game. You can follow many challenges, you can play it nice and calm. You can play adventure maps, you can just construct, on Survival has challenge to obtain materials, in Creative you can see ideas or simply make art. Maybe make your own stories, whatever, It's Minecraft, the freedom game

| If you want to try a sort of midpoint between those two versions two other highly played versions are 1.12 and release 1.8
