I just got back into Smash Bros Ultimate again and this game is fun, isn't it? I forgot how fun it is. I only play casually and hardly ever online, but it's still fun.
I mainly play Dark Pit, Ike, and Marth, though I just got Byleth and I like her playstyle a lot. I'm pretty decent with Zelda, Link, Meta Knight, Pokemon Trainer, Rosalina, and Robin. Trying to get better with the Belmont boys, but no luck yet.

Ridley. Slow, suckish aerials and big hitbox, but for some reason the only one I can beat my friends with besides Little Mac.

Kirby, one of my favourite chars in gmaminh, very versatile, good airial coverage, smoll size and can jump four times, the only problem is that he is c tier -_- due to some flaws but still fun to play

Huh is it normal to only have one or two mains? I can never stick with just one for a long time, I just get bored. (am op btw)

>>680761 Am noob, so disregard me pls. I currently main Ridley mostly because I still need to get used to the controls of Smash and for some reason I'm good with him.

Captain Falcon and Little mac. Only hype characters belong in my home.

In 4 I played mostly Lucina and Pit. Kinda want to learn Robin and Palutena, but I'm still ass at all four of them.

>>680761 depends if you play casually it's super common to switch often, if you're trying to "git gud" for competitive reasons then it's normal to pick a main and maybe a secondary and stick with those, if you put all your time in one character you'll be that much better with that one character vs a bunch of random ones that you're ok-decent

In Smash Ultimate, I play as Corrin or Ryu. But before that, I used to focus more on Link, Mario, and Snake.

I main Zelda in every game because I'm a masochist

>>681220 online Zelda though

>>681108 Ah yeah that makes sense. I don't have the attention span for competitive play myself.

I main Ness, but my secondaries vary a lot. Recently I've really enjoyed Palutena, but I also play a fair amount of Captain Falcon, Hero, Falco, Jigglypuff and a few swordfighters, mainly Roy.

*realizes his knowledge about smash is getting kind of outdated* Well, I used to play Jigglypuff a lot. On the Wii at least. Kirby and fucking Pikachu were fun too!

>>681340 welcome back, ssbm is dead but melee lives even online
melee currently has the best netcode of any smash game thanks to a open source project called slippi, just grab a melee 1.0.2 ntsc iso and slippi and give it a shot
(Melee has a high skill floor though so maybe play with a friend or other new players using discord instead of matchmaking for a while)
Ssbu also exists and while much laggier online is active and has many more characters to choose from

>>681380 uhh ssbb is dead not ssbm that's what I get for not spell checking

>>681380 Not only more characters, as in a fuck ton more characters, but also more valid ones. In Melee there are 4-5 characters worth playing because the others are trash. In Ultimate, like, probably 50-60 characters are valid, maybe more.

If by more characters, you're talking about half the cast being FE, the other quarter being op dlc, and the base game moochy as fuck. At least the items are cool.

>>c42272 she's fine in ultimate but she was bottom tier every other smash game

>>681417 yep the balance overall for ssbu is probably the best of the series, sucks the online feels like molasses in comparison

>>681472 The only top tier DLC character in Ultimate is Joker and 9-10% of the characters are FE.
>>681482 Yeah, it would be nice if Nintendo got their shit together when it comes to online.

Ike
I love being able to soak up like 7 hits and then absolutely wallop someone with 2. Also being at 300% and eating an up A with my Eruption, it always rages people hahaha
I also like Snake and my troll pick is Toon Link

But also I like Ike because spamming Aether is just SO satisfying!

For me it's Samus. (all Smash titles) Also: Richter, Palutena, Dark Pit, Lucina and Roy (Smash U)

So I just realised Palutena is WAY lighter in Smash U than in Smash 4. Couldn't play her at all in 4, but I can see why people consider her high tier now.

>>681866 Consider her high tier? My g/u/rl, she's the second or third best character in the game.
