I'll accept a high resolution port, but I don't want the original assets replaced. Part of why Vagrant Story visuals look great is how they created a detailed & cinematic feel within the PS1's limitations. I bet Kojima would nut over this at the time.

I actually understand this. Yoshida's distinctive art style is part of that era and those run of Ivalice games. Updating them to be more polished, akin to Kingdom Hearts models would be great. I chose From Software because i feel like they could really update the batgle system to be deliberate in the ways the original seemed to feel

I love Vagrant Story, but there was some tedium that didn't add to the depth and challenge. The unique battle system should be preserved, just not the frequent menu-shifting.
