Spelunky is golden classic, along with Isaac. Darkest Dungeon is just awesome. If you are curious about the OG roguelikes, ADOM, TOME NetHack and Dwarf Fortress are the most notable ones

>>679604 I think you might have forgotten about Rogue...
Post number #679612, ID: 50e241

>>679609 I mean, it's literally in the name, no need to explicitly mention it

>>679612 True, but also, it's THE OG Rogue-like, you feel me?
Post number #679671, ID: 2c1a87
|
>>679613 I'd say Rogue should not be mentioned as a roguelike, since it's not LIKE Rogue, it IS Rogue.
>>679604 As for OG roguelikes, you can't forget about Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. Probably the most streamlined of the "classic" ones.
IVAN is great if you want something hardcore as fuck. Stoneshard is also complex but modern. Tangledeep, on the contrary, is a lot more chill. Which doesn't mean it won't push your shit in in the deeper levels, but it's easier to get into.

Ain't all those roguelites and not actual roguelikes?

>>679671 Rogue is pretty much exactly like Rogue though, so I'd personally call it the best Rogue-like.
>>679729 Bro, sorry to tell you, but I don't think anyone cares about that shit anymore.

>>679736 For it to be a Rogue-like and not just Rogue, something has to be different from Rogue. So I'd say Rogue should be disqualified. Rogue.
