Pretty crazy bundle that donates everything towards fighting racism. The games include Oxenfree, Overland, A Short Hike, A Night in the Woods, etc.

I've been shifting through the bundle and it also contains a bunch of tabletop RPG. Most of them are short, but there's a couple of fully-illustrated rulebook tomes.
It's a good bundle. Just think that you're donating and the bundle is just a bonus.
>>666913 Completely DRM-free, but there's a desktop client if you want it.

If you g/u/rls don't think there's at least $5 worth of entertainment in those 740+ titles, you've forgot how to have fun. I'm sorry, but this is a great deal that yeah, probably includes a bunch of bad games, but also includes some really humorous and fun games.
Post number #666933, ID: 2d147d

It's 5 furracking bucks. I don't care if you believe in where the donations are going. It's 5 furracking bucks.

>>666930 For real though. I bought it and there's no regret. It's really not a bad purchase. I scrolled through after buying and found games I've seen before and considered buying, I found games that I've seen the entirety of but would love to play for myself, I've found games that I've never seen but look pretty interesting.
All for $5, and that money is basically just a donation to a cause I've wanted to support.

>>667204 ikr. You can't play every steam game without a steam account. And before anyone brings up how you can play offline, I dare you to remove your steam account info and try playing those steam games again.

>>667204 DRM-free is great. I wish the games from the bundle would be accessible in the itch.io app though, because now I have some games that launch from there and, like, 742 that don't. It's a minor thing though.

imagine if Steam made same.... xd
Post number #667368, ID: afce13

>>667313 because intuitive interface with functions and community.. Steam is big company so is low risc of turn off servers with compare to Itch.io what can end like Desura...
You don't need bother with installers, and all you have on one place..
Post number #667371, ID: ad2935
|
>>667368 If Steam doesn't want to support your game anymore they can just remove it. It's in the EULA.
With DRM free you can legally back up all the games you own.
Steam is convenient, sure. I use it often myself. But if I can get the same game DRM free for the same price I always take that option and I recommend everyone else to do the same.
Post number #667376, ID: afce13
|
>>667371 Yes, but its come ask why would they do that? They are earning really a lot from sells on Steam and if they decided delete libraries they will end, and people will probably move to other platform.. If i could i will have everything in Steam, and uninstall all apps what are taking me place on desktop.. And really i can't back up 9,37TB of data.. or probably 18,73TB because hard-disc can anytime leave.. and copies should be at least 2.. In this way i trust servers of Valve..
Post number #667385, ID: 225ebf

>>667368 except GOG and itch offer desktop clients that do the same convinent stuff as Steam does. Except those games are DRM-free. So you can own your games without sacrificing convenience.
Post number #667393, ID: ad2935
|
>>667376 They have deleted some games from Steam before? Some of them you can still download if you bought them before their removal(but they don't get patched anymore) while other games are gone from your library forever.
It's rare that they do it and they probably have a good reason for it(like Rape Simulator). But it doesn't mean that your games are completely safe at steam. If supporting a bunch of old games ends up costing more than it generates then they they may remove them
Post number #667398, ID: afce13

>>667385 GOG don't have so a lot functions like streaming, support of gamepads, VR and so.. It is interesting but not enough..
>>667393 they was delisted games, but not removed, if i bought them in past, they stay still in my library.

Cool, I just noticed that Heavy Bullets is in the pack. If you bought it you must test it out. It's really good!
Also Blades in the Dark rulebook? That game alone is worth like 15$.
>Philip K. Dick's Tony and the Beetles I thought I knew about all game adaptions based on Philip K. Dick's works but I guess I must've missed this one. He's the author behind the book that Blade Runner was based on fyi.
D.M.T looks dope xD

>>667398 You can still stream GOG games and use gamepads/VR for the ones that support it. You can even opt in your DRM-free game to Steam and use said functions there while still retaining ownership of the product you bought.

Paranautical Activity definetly fits that description. In fact I think it looks like one of the better games in the bundle!

I noticed that there are several one-player TTRPG games in this bundle... I had no idea these kind of games existed or even how the hell they work.
I have to try them out though and see what it's all about.

>>667588 The Queen Returns is apparently a Solo Letter Writing RPG
The Wretched is a space sci-fi TTRPG about isolation and survival where you record your daily logs (sounds kinda cool actually)
Savior seems to be similar but less about isolation and more about, well, saving or building
With These Phantom Hands is a short "One-Move Game for One Player" about becoming a ghost
Your body, an altar can be played by 1 or several people and even has an NSFW version
Post number #667594, ID: 2f6dda
|
>>667588 Full of Memory and Anger is a game about anger that takes place in a large forest and can be played by 1-5 people
Ego is a short game about you
World Maker is a single player tabletop game about building a world
Alone With Your Ghost is a solo roleplaying game about encountering your inner demons
My Welcomed Guest is a solo game about being trapped in Faerie and trying to bargain your way home.(Looks pretty good actually)
Post number #667595, ID: 2f6dda
|
>>667588 The Gateshead Engine is a single-player game set in an alternate version of Victorian England where you play an engineer
Others and Propagate Love are one-player games about empathy
Navigator is a 2-player RPG that actually seems a bit interesting

I also found a few TTRPGs for multiple players that fits the theme of this site.
The Reaper's Almanac is a game where you act out your character by writing letters to other players.
The Cyborgs & Cigarettes is a cyberpunk RPG set in an alternate prohibition-era USA.
Working For the Corp is a cyberpunk print and play Descended From the Queen game. You will play characters who work at a megacorp called "The Corp" who are tasked with defending sensitive information from runners.

I started writing a script that does it for you but itch.io humbly asked people not to do that so I decided not to use it.

>>668336 ah, did a bit more reading. I think, so long as you buy the bundle, all games are added to your library, just hidden. In order to unhide them, you need to navigate to the page. So to clear up any confusion, once you buy them, all 1100+ games are yours forever. You just need to go to the page sent to you in your email to access any given game for the first time. Itch.io also said they're working on an "unhide all" button, which is nice.
