I tried playing Deus Ex Mankind Divided and did not like it at all.

Now, before y'all get a chance to stick your pitchforks in me, allow me to state that I completed a non-lethal full ghost (ALMOST full ghost, screw the zombie hordes) playthrough of Human Revolution and loved it. Granted, I did not immediately like it much, since I'm not too used to immersive sims, but by the moment I left Detroit the first time I was already really into it.
But DXMD isn't hitting those same vibes for me for some reason. Should I try to push on or just refund?

Like, I can't even really put a finger on the exact reason. Visually it's obviously better, but at the same time human models look more uncanny. The reworked UI is just... Unfamiliar, I guess, maybe I'll get used to it. I didn't really like the way it throws you straight into the action, plus the first mission is like something straight out of CoD. The cover system is now absolutely over designed. And they butchered the way the hacking minigame looks too.

Maybe I should just switch to easy and grab a gun or two instead of tranq if I just want to experience the story?

Oh fuck, didn't even mention the atmosphere/aesthetic. So far MD's got nothing on HR.

But who liked it at all? It's too short to be a game of such budget, isn't it?

I stopped reading at "zombie hordes" cuz I have NO IDEA about that. My fault for not finishing the game tho D:

>>654405 Ah, sorry. To be fair though, it's not saying much about the actual events in-game.

I would say try fiddling with the HUD settings, switch controls over to Human Revolution's layout, and focus on the side missions. The latter is the best part of MD.
But if that's not enough, then that's fine. I prefer HR more so I don't blame you for how MD was handled. Square Enix did this series dirty when they pushed for an Adam Jensen trilogy with scumminess on the side.

Yeah, never mind all that. I still prefer HR, I think, and certain things like cover being way to finicky and patrols taking way too long or having too many dudes still piss me off, but other than that I finally got into it. Golem City and Prague at night really rekindled that cyberpunk feel, and both main and side missions are indeed pretty interesting.

I haven't played it, but it looks a lot worse than Human Revolution. Human Revolution is amazing, but, yeah. It just looks like Human Revolution, but worse.

I haven't heard many good things about it tbh. Have it sitting in my library but haven't played yet. The DLC's were a turn off- the limited use ones.

>>655257 plot takes a step back for many people, but it's still a generally pretty good game to actually play. There's even a permadeath difficulty called "I Didn't Ask For This" Difficulty.
