Said a game sucked after a long playthrough and a friend got mad. >_>

So a friend tried arguing with me with how unfair I was at calling a certain RPG the worst I've played.
I finished a 40+ hour playthrough and thought it was terrible in nearly every aspect. But this friend said I'm being unfair to call it the worst because I didn't see the other routes/choices.
I think it's dumb and I wonder why anyone would think a replay would change about it. Especially when I already mentioned other games that executed similar ideas better IMO.

The same with anime, people get angry at you when you drop it mid season or after a few episodes even if it is already obvious that the story is going to shit.
That's why I always try to avoid recommending/listen to recommendations from other people about anime/games.

>>647362 don't they realize how important first impressions are?? Especially when our free time has its limits, some of us have work/school.

Why the fuck would you spend 40 hours on a game you don't even like?

>>647373 it started off fine at first. Then things got tedious and then worse towards the end. I thought "I made this far, I might as well see how it ends". The ending sucked.

hence why i stick to things specifically with either a highly depressing plot
goes to shit less often

Retoric is also important and solely using words like "dumb" and "shit" to describe something without actually explaining why can be infuriating to hear.
I'm less curious about your fight with your friend and genuinely more interested in a short review of the game.
>>647362 Yeah, just listing recommendations never works because of our difference in tastes. I only listen to recommendations that are either evaluated or from friends who I know have similar tastes as me.

>>647375 You ever thought that maybe forcing yourself to play what you don't enjoy kinda cloud your judgment? Like, it probably feels a lot worse than it is.
But hey, not liking things, having different tastes, that's fair.

Yeah. I get that shit from my friends pretty often when it comes to anime especially. Like, "the first 30 hours of watching/playing aren't that good, but it's definitely worth it!" I mean, sometimes I do recommend things to others, but I don't bother them about it because they drop it after actually watching/playing it. People have different tastes. Getting mad about that is dumb.

>>647389 I didn't specify what game because it's popular and I don't feel like arguing with people who will tell me "it's not that bad".
Plenty of people love it and some of my friends talk about it like it's a deep and well crafted story. But from what I've seen and the spoilers I looked up? It's wasted potential and is poorly executed. Doesn't help that its got so much filler content.

>>647449 You don't have to argue back at people who disagree. But your opinion on the game is a lot more interesting than some fight you had with a friend. This is /v/ after all.

>>647449 just tell us what the game is already reeeeeee The suspense is killing me.

>>647489 It's Witcher 3

>>647449>>647489 Yeah just tell us OP. It's fine to have different opinions we won't judge you.

I think OP is afraid of telling us the name so we won't inform him of how wrong he is. Imagine feeling bored for 40 hours and then someone uses logic to prove that you actually wasn't feeling bored but was instead feeling joy the entire time!!

>>647512 Something similar happened to me. I thought was enjoying this game a lot and then some people on 4chan informed me that I was wrong and that the game sucked and that I never felt any joy at all while playing it.

>>647505 That legit wouldn't surprise me. That game is very overrated.
>>647512 I hate shit like that. That's why I despise that Terraria thread so much. Like, jesus fucking christ dude. Some people like it, some don't. Writing a 10k word not at all objective review won't change that.
Don't pressure OP to say what game. The thread would just get trashed instantly.

>>647563 It's fine if it gets trashed. What are we clinging onto anyway? It's just OP trash talking his friends.

>>647588 Well you're right about that but I don't think asking him to evaluate his opinion is toxic.
But you're probably right. I didn't even read that Terraria thread because it was full of so many inane posts.

>>647505>>647489 I still won't say what the game is. But it's not The Witcher 3, I actually love it a lot. Warts and all.

FF VII maybe? I heard it's got fuckton of boring filler quests (like xv). Don't think it has multiple routes though, but who knows.
Post number #647732, ID: 6e7565

>>647716 It doesn't have multiple routes, no. I also haven't noticed the game having any filler quests. Is that something new to the remake?
Post number #647805, ID: ed0d7f

>>647675 That was actually a joke. Even if people disagree I won't lose the time I enjoyed the game because someone said I was wrong lol.
It's the same with you. Even if people disagree with your opinions you know you were bored for the most part of the playthrough. No matter how intense someone's counter-opinion is she can't change that.

>>647393 That's fair, but that works the other way around too. And that's why a lot of laymen reviews are either "this is the best thing ever" or "that's the dumbest shit I've ever seen".

>>647732 Remake, yes. Reviews I've seen say it has a lot of filler quests.
