Anyone here playing these archaic things? I've been getting into Aardwolf recently and I'm quite lovimg it. The world is expansive and the scenery is descriptive, yet the game is not heavily rp-focused, so you don't feel pressured to not do ooc things. The fact that lots of players are active are great too. The newbie chat always seems to receive traffic somehow. Plus, the map, while not big, is color-coded for ease of use unlike other MUDs, if they even have them.

I used to play Hellmoo a few years ago. I have tons of crazy stories to tell.

>>643155 Oh, do tell. Most of my time in my later levels was spent playing lasertag and collecting custom cosmetic items for the heck of it, besides just exploring and spellchecking the various backgrounds of course, so nothing much worth talking about. I've looked into LegendMUD, and it's super interesting that people just build and rp a character so good it left a legacy.

>>643218 Multi-User Dungeon. Basically a text-based MMO. And I do mean text-based. Whatever visuals they may even have are done with ASCII.

>>643214 HELLMOO is weird. As in, managing your sexual frustration is just as important as health and stamina etc. If you become too horny you will get stat losses and will have to "take care" of the problem(unless you play a brawler. Then you get stronger the hornier you get for some reason).
So you either tug one out, or you shoot a street orphan in the knees and use him for it or if you're feeling adventerous hunt another player. Of course you can also flirt with another player

>>dac644 cont -until she gives you a helping hand so to speak.
The first time I played the game I was standing besides a vending machine when a seemingly nice person struck up a conversation and invited me home to his place for some free armored boots. Naively I said yes and had to spend the following 2 hours being his sexslave until I managed to escape(with the boots, yaay!) and the human remains of whoever he tricked before me(I named her Scully).
After learning the ropes I ended up becoming a pretty rich fisherman(I noticed how bullets would catch the biggest fish). I would spend my time roaming the post apocalyptic wasteland looking for useful mutations or just staying in town fishing.
I lost most shootouts I encountered and was raped and killed over and over again until a female vampire rapist found me and took me in. We become good friends and got a place to live in New Rome and she introduced me to all

>>dac644 cont -these people. When we got our place we invited everyone to a big party. The funny thing about getting drunk in this game is that certain commands can get switched. So when I typed in the command to light my cigarette I instead picked up a dynamite, put it in my mouth and lit it and thus killed everyone.
Eventually I moved and had no internet access and ended up not playing anymore but I've often wanted to go back.
Maybe I'll just check Aardwolf out this time.
