Loved the idea and atmosphere - but execution was... Well, good - if we are comparing it to fallout 4. But definately not something obsidian-level. It *is* just straight-up fo4 with slightly better writing - a mediocre at best shooter with some rp-elements on top. But that's my view. What's your take on it?

Comparing it to FO4 is dumb. FO4 has a fully open world while TOW has like 5 small areas to explore, additionally, FO4's skill/perk/whatever system allows for a lot of replayability while TOW's is shit, it is incredibly easy to make a jack of all trades build in TOW and specializing in anything is just a hindrance rather than a new playstyle. I've played both games and I honestly thought they were both shit.

FO4 is shit because it feels like a Far Cry game with a Fallout skin rather than a Fallout game, and TOW is shit because it is just.. FO4 but worse. I dunno how people even came up with the delusion that it is somehow better, it must be because of the Bethesda hate at the time. I hated Bethesda way before then because of how they ruined Fallout with FO4 but even I'm not gonna say TOW is better because its not.

>>6ef5d9>Comparing it to FO4 is dumb. >TOW is shit because it is just.. FO4 but worse. I do agree with you overall, but I fail to see how FO4's perks or open world makes much of a difference. It is easy to build jack-of-all-trades, mostly because there is not that much in trade-department. Two types of lockpicking, speech and a free choice between hitting baddies with wet noodles from afar or up close. At lest TOW does not pretend that there's more to it than increasing numbers.

They are both bad as shooters - but TOW has somewhat better writing. Better, not good, mind you.

>>642946 It doesn't really make much of a difference in FO4 either compared to 3/NV and more serious RPGs, as I said I don't care about either game so I won't bother defending FO4 but I do believe FO4s systems are better than TOW and serve a functional purpose, while TOW's systems feel like they were quickly forced into the game without much thought or design.
