Are there The Sims clone passion project out there? I wanna get into that alternate life simulation / house building thingy again but EA's monetization practice sucks

Never played it, but I heard Second Life is like MMO Sims.
Other than than, I don't think there's a "sims but not EA" game. Whenever I want to play "sims but not EA" game, I usually play other simulation games.
Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley when I feel like farming. Kenshi when I feel like living in a desolate post apocaliptic map. Tropico/CIV for government/building sim and Custom Maid 3D 2 for whenever I want to create/dress up/pose characters.

>>611812 is nothing like the Sims, the only part they coincide is on dating. The only real alternative to the Sims is the Sims Urbz which is a same they abandoned that concept. Other than that there isn't much else that is not just some project pretending to be a fangame.
The best is to ahoy or get the games for free whenever they give them for free on origin and mod the hell out of them.

i have also wanted an open Sims project. idk why but the process of laying out a house and filling it with furniture is oddly satisfying to me

>>612241 Wouldn't be weird to sponsor a game that is literally based (copied) on a game they already sponsored?
