It's predatory trash.
But I do like collecting JPGs and despite its usually dumb gameplay, it can be a fun way to wind down.
Not playing any atm though because my phone's in a bad shape.

If you can't help but to play the latest games, watch currently airing anime, and If your only way to enjoy game is by playing it with an active community, then gacha is for you. It is pretty much the evolution of MMO.
But if you are not into above stuff, then don't play them. They are super grindy and usually the story is subpar.

"But, my waifuuuuu" welp, if you play it for the waifu, then there's no argument that I can throw against it. It is just that most gacha will not have consistant artworks and I hope that would turn you off.
If you are going to play, though, try playing games that is possible to be played for free.
I no longer play F/GO, but when I play it Their gacha is notorious for having abysmall SSR rate but it is pretty generous in giving you free (and useful) character

I fucking hate them, but i can't help but play them, thank God my third world country doesn't have Paypal and i'm too lazy to get a credit card, that way i can't waste more money than i already do

They're alright. I especially like the ones that are f2p friendly because I'll never spend so much as a cent on them. It's good free content, can't really complain.

I love 'em, but my favorites are the ones like Dragon Ball Heroes World mission because you only pay once and have a full gacha game that's not predatory with your money(well, other than the initial price)

Girls Frontline is the only gacha game worth playing. /shot
Nah I'm sure some others are alright, but most are garbage.

I don't care about cacha games I feel they are shit because they offer nothing but wishes, prefer investing that time and money on wishes for studying or playing cult games. They can be fun, 1 week at much, but gacha doesn't have a hook other than "your waifu is here and we ruined it". Plus on mobile they usually have really big sizes for games where the gameplay is just one screen all the time.
And I prefer real games on mobile.

I don't like how in gachas - if you're a free player and don't start playing on release day, you're gonna feel late to the party all the time.

I like them because my pc is shitty and i can't really play many games on it. They're enjoyable games as long as you don't care what you get and like working with whatever gacha gives you (there are exceptions like gfl). Good time-killers for busy people. Gacha plots have been getting better as well (fgo, gfl, arknights) so if you like playing for story, good news for you. My personal advice though, is to stay away from ones that have PvP, it's pay to win cancer 100% of the time.

Gacha is ok. The point of gacha isn't real money gambling, but the excitement of being lucky. People seem to forget/don't know but some gacha games actually let you pull the highest rarity stuff for FREE, and those are the kind of gacha game you should be playing. In other words: gacha good pay2win bad.
of course I'm talking about girls frontline. play girls frontline.

You shouldn't use an outlier as argument to defend the whole system. The fact is that most gacha games starve you from free pulls. Some only let you pull using paid currency, even if the free one is already hard to come by to begin with.
Examples: Guaranted SSR (5 star) for FGO, only can rolled by using paid quartz. The Dead Or Alive only let you roll newly released characters if you are using paid venus coin.

Fire Emblem Heroes is pretty good imo, even being a niche game and having a really dumbed down FE experience

>>597246 lol I said GACHA is ok, I never said GACHA GAMES in general are ok. If you want there is a game that is literally just gacha with nothing else. I forgot what it's called but people like it from what I remember. If I can only mention GFL then maybe GFL is the only gacha game done right, and that's worth something.
Can be played offline, MT's are optional, and a complete and utter parody of gachas in general while just happening to be a fun game.

Xenoblade 2 is a gacha game and it isn't pay2win, in fact there are no microtransactions. In other words, gacha is good, the evil thing is pay2win microtransactions

That's what I'm talking about. Gacha is fun, just not the scummy business model. I'd have my own personal gachapon at home if I could.

Question: is Neko Atsume a gacha game? You're rolling for a cat every time you open an app, and you collect pictures of them.
This is like, the ideal gacha game for me.

Most gacha games are pure garbage and no matter how good they are I can't condone anyone play them. There's inevitably going to be some that are still decent or good playing F2P but they're still basically making you work a second job to keep up with the grind, your time is more vauable than that unless you literally have nothing going on.
>>597859 I wouldn't count it as one. Gacha's about putting money into a virtual slot machine for waifu JPGs.

>>598066 That's because gacha is synomous to anime girls when it comes to games, but irl gachapon can be about anything. So yes, Neko Atsume is technically a gacha game, as is any game where you can roll for characters at random.

>>598066 Gachas give stability to the everyday chaos. It feels nice when I have a gacha to come back to. But yeah gachas do require playing everyday for a min of 30 minutes and that's a lot.

>>598085 definitely, my local card store has card gachas for Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokémon It's as exciting as booster packs, but cheaper
This is considered a lot nowadays? That's not any different than serious (or even casual, really) mmorpg players, except they can sometimes sink from 2-4 hours per session per day.

>>598223 Yeah, I guess it's simillar to mmo, but unlike with mmo you don't have to socialize to get the most out of them. Several our per day is a lot for a game when there are games that last that time and have a much deeper density of content.
