Real talk though: the devs at Atlus are probably having more trouble than expected what with new engine and console and workflow and all. Give it some time.

| The only thing that you need to research is the size of atlus/team that works on SMT. If the size is not growing, then you should have expected 5-9 years of development cycle.
SMT I: 1992
SMT II: 1994
SMT III: 2003
SMT IV: 2013
SMT IV Apo: 2016
SMT II only took them 2 years because they just did a little bit of improvement from the first game and add a new story to it.
The same with IV apocalypse; same engine from SMT IV, improve it a bit, add a few demons + new story.
| Even if SMT IV come out at 2020, it is still 7 years after SMT IV, which can still be considered as quick for mainline SMT A.
