So I took everyone's advice and stopped playing cheap Japanese games

Lat time you play shitty anime game and depressed because of the harem subplot. This time there is no longer harem, yet you are still depressed? Sounds like you are the problems, not the games. Maybe go play minecraft/don't starve single player, there won't be character interacting there.
