I am mostly RPG gurls and I've been eyeing on Kenshi for a while. How similar is it to Mount & Blade? I've tried Mount & Blade before and got bored of it after 20-30 hours because it's too repetitive for me. It is neat to get a surprise ambush when you enter a town, but after the 12th times getting ambushed by the same guy and with similar ambush pattern, it just gets old.

I am also not a fan of Mount & Blades control, I'd rather go to separate windows and manually clicking commands to the units than using f1-f10 key
So with these info, would you recommend Kenshi to me?

Kenshi is honestly an experience on its own. Look at some gameplay videos that show the combat and see if you like that. You dont give separate orders to your squad members beyond maybe macroing the medic guy. Ambushes in Kenshi are a big part of it though. The whole world is populated by squads of different things, most of them out to kill you and ALL of them will beat you sensless in the beginning. Losing battles repeatedly is a legit strategy in this game. >leafy soft latex

>>575739 Won't you get murdered if you lose a battle? I wonder how replayable is it. Seems like half of it is exploration, though the world isn't randomly generated, so that should get old quick.

>>575813 "quick" as in hundreds of hours, maybe

>>575813 they have a system that more games should copy. When you lose a fight, the game doesnt end, instead you lose consciousness and the enemy will either loot you, leave you there, or take you into slavery. Now why dont you just reload thr game? Because getting beat up makes you tougher, you get more health and you become hardier. Its even better when they take you into slavery since you get free food, you are protected from the outside world, and working boosts your stats.

>>575957 I just run from attackers and sneak into battles to loot people who are knocked out and eventually I became a ninja who could travel across the land at supersonic speeds.

I have over 150 hours on Kenshi. It will suck and fuck away your time. I couldn't recommend it more.

OP here, thank you gurls for the answers.
My question about combat mechanic has been answered, but what about the similarity to Mount&Blade? Are there a lot of repeated quests and grinding by huting random bandits?

>>575957 Sounds cool. They could cut off your limbs in the fight though right?

>>576126 to cut off a limb, you must do way more damage to that limb than its max health. This wont happen when you're fighting starving bandits or shit like that. This is guaranteed to happen if you fight one of those roaming skeleton samurais. Gotta pick your fights and run like hell if the enemy is clearly too stronk.

There is quite a bit of grinding for base stats (such as running around for a few ingame hours), but it's not too bad, and you can speed time up by tenfold. There aren't any repeated quests, though, to my knowledge.

2/ Overall, I think it's one of the better, if rather obtuse rpgs around. I put over 20 hours in a few days, and I'm one to drop games prety quick.
