What's the best slashy action-RPG to get on this Steam Sale?

| Tales of... series is supposed to be pretty dope. Dunno which one of the latest titles is better though, Vesperia (not really a "latest title" per se but still) or Berseria.

Tales of's gameplay has slashing in it but I definitely won't call it a slashy action game. It's 100% a JRPG

Well OP wanted an action-RPG. It's an RPG, it has action combat, so maybe that would work.

Monster Hunter is more focused on the enemies and has slow weighty combat
God Eater focuses on your main character and how you customize them and has fast paced stylish combat

i just wonder why the "replier" (assuming it's OP) didn't comment on Ys VIII. it is by far my favourite game since childhood, been following it since Ys III

God Eater is okay, but the gameplay is kinda clunky and the atmosphere is not that good. Ys VIII looks interesting, although I prefer more "classic" Ys.

considering.. Ys is hands down my favourite hack and slash...
maybe try Witch Thief or Enchanting Sword Play Reverie if you're interested
