How to be more confident with your body?

| Let me be honest with ya g/u/rls for a second, I'm not pretty. Would be kinda generic-looking 4-5/10, but I am also on the lower end of obesity as well. I'm already working on fixing that with intermittent fasting, CICO and some exercise, but it is taking some time already and is gonna take even longer until I'm pleased with it. But I think that to fully change myself for the better I have to accept myself as I am right now, or slimming down will not have the full desired effect.

| Good clothes help boost your confidence. Whether fat or skinny with nice clothes you can look good.

That's true. Finding a clothing style that you like will not only make you feel good and boost your confidence, but it also makes you more attractive. Other than that though, there's not really anything you can do. I mean, there's plastic surgery, but at least for me personally, that's a big turn off. I'd much rather date someone who's just being themselves than someone who wears designer only and is half fucking plastic.

| Dunno how it ended up in /v/, totally meant to post in /u/. Guess I'm also blind to boot or something.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions! Finding nice clothes in my size sure is a pain though.

It's fine. A mod will probably fix it.

That kind of depends on what you consider nice clothes though. A nice style and nice clothes are two different thing. While it may take some time, finding clothes that you personally like and that can combine to look good is what I recommend. Clothes that speak to you I guess. Big plus if they're comfortable too.

| >>574989 Also taking care of yourself/appearance helps with raising your self esteem. Keep your nails clean and manicured( which you can do at home) style your hair nicely, experiment with makeup, and take care of your skin with a skincare routine. The more effort you put into yourself daily the more you realize you're really worth it!

| Another suggestion is to think how would a confident version of yourself look/act like. How would you talk to others or how would you deal in this situation? Try and act towards that ideal, you know the saying "fake it till you make it" Anyway, best of luck /g/url!
Oh and dancing to loud music is always a plus too

| Ask someone with a good sense of dressing for a shortcut. My sister commented me on everything from clothes to the way I act, knowing what people think about you can help you improve yourself and build up your confidence

| I will never understand how people can have trouble losing weight.
Just eat less and walk more, thats really all there is to it.
Gaining muscles and toning your body, thats another issue.
But weight loss is honestly very easy if you decide to stick with it.
If you want a good book to read, check out Mindset. (It has a subtitle but I cant remember it)

| >>575320 you're not completely wrong, but some people have slow metabolism and will need more than just walking
Eating less is also a dangerous advice, gotta explain to most people that it doesn't mean skipping meals, it means keeping all meals but eating less on each one

| >>575320
Usually the "eat less" part is the problem. Especially when food serves the role of a coping mechanism.

>>575322
Slow metabolism doesn't really mean all that much, it's a ~300 calorie difference that can be dealt with in the kitchen.
The idea behind intermittent fasting is literally just skipping meals (but possibly eating more on ones you don't skip to get enough calories) and it seems to be working fairly well for people doing it.

| >>575342
Yes, eat less is not really a good way to go, unless you really eat way too much.

You can keep eating the SAME amount, and just get your ass doing some walking or stuff, right ?

| >>575390
Still, a little bit of a calorie deficit can go a long way. But it's true that walking and exercising and whatnot is also pretty good not only for burning off some extra weight, but also for your health in general.
