So it seems the epic store was just a way to force Steam into more favorable revenue splitting

I'm almost sure that was their plan from the start, their storefront is buggy and riddled with stupid limitations for the gamer
They were just trying to put steam in check, get a favorable deal and silently shutdown their store after valve conceded
That's some crazy 4D chess move that will allow Epic to get more money than they'd do with a serious store of their own

| Not sure if real, or just Tim starting up his latest round of marketing bullshit.

| >>555653 Yeah, I'm thinking it's just Tim trying to make his company look positive, especially after the recent news about insane crunch times at Epic.

| Epic is garbage anyway, so it's no surprise they get in the same stuff as steam. Trash belongs with trash

| Sounds like a bluff, also sounds like bullshit marketing to try and get pr that isn't "exclusives give me ass cancer and epic is the cause"

| If epic is feeding them like no tomorrow, he won't make any sound. He'll sit quietly with all the money and boast at the next financial report about how much money he brought to the company.

Most likely there's issues that he realized after he signed the deal with epic. Who knows, maybe the exclusive bribe money isn't paid full, maybe there are additional terms in the "generous" revenue split. We just have to wait and see

| It's pretty simple, you suddenly open a ln online store with magically low revenue split for you, then you throw money at devs to get exclusives and to have an e-commerce or a storefront you need to pay certain taxes that aren't cheap plus the integration with payment systems
Sum all of that with the normal costs of having a company and it's kinda obvious that the epic store is probably being run at a loss
So I think it'd be on their best interest to find an excuse to stop

| An excuse like "steam is not anti competition anymore so we're mov8ng to their store"

| If its all a veiled threat to get Valve to release Ep 3 I'll forgive them

| How can you believe them? They didn't release Fornite on the App Store because of the 30% they keep, if they really wanted other platforms to respect developer pricing, they would do so in all platforms. Yet I haven't seen any mobile game on the Epic Store (and they would win A LOT because there are more weaker developers).
