I got both Metro Exodus and DMC V on launch and I know I would enjoy them but then I lost my energy and can barely focus on shit more than a few low-brain-effort MMO daily kinds of things instead of exploring new frontiers
Why must our brains betray us in our times of most need

I've got about 80+ games I haven't even touched, about another 50-70 I haven't finished and am only about 1-5 hours into, I have numerous long playthroughs in the progress (like the civ career I binged for 4 days then ignored). I went through the trouble of creating a category on steam just for all the games I need to, want to, and haven't played. this list extends all down my fullscreen and one scroll but I still only ever play the same few games or tf2 or r6 siege. It's pathetic.

Back when I was younger and on the 360 I would outright refuse to play any other game or talk to any of my friends until I completed a game. Now I yearn for a certain game or genre, buy them, and never play them. I was DYING to play might and magic, finally bought em, haven't even touched them.

I only quit if it triggers my OCD (Looking at you, Ubisoft Games and your collectives) since i just want to complete everything. I had recently bought Dragon's Dogma and it's a hell of a game but it really annoyed me that i find sidequests around the world before bothering with main quests as they would cancel and ruin my 100% run.

There's a reason I haven't bought a game in the last... one month?

>>538108 One of the reasons (I think) that games are so exhausting to play nowadays is the way that they are paced. Most of the games are spread longer than they should be so that they can gloat about the "hours of gameplay" that they have, while putting out a bland game. The other thing that sometimes happens is that a game is a non-stop action, tiring you out. Third is the lack of variety in some games. The reason that the original God of War trilogy had those shitty puzzles was

to add variety to the gameplay so that you don't tire from slaying dudes (and dudetes) endlessly.

This happened to me with Diablo III twice. I played 6 hours and I really haven't gotten back again.

Legend of heroes: trails in the sky I loved this game but when I was halfway through I got a new PC and left it behind to play the games that the old one couldn't run, forgot all the story and got too lazy to start it over

I own 357 games on steam, I have a category for the games I haven't completed and one for the games I haven't touched yet and I'm not proud to say I have not touched 123 games and I haven't completed 41

I do the same shit. I play them though. I buy them, play them, love them, stop after 2-7 hours, buy a new one, play it, probably love or at least enjoy it, stop after 2-7 hours, buy a new one because I really wanted a new tactical RPG, play it, it's pretty good, stop after 2-7 hours, "I would love a tight, fast platformer right now.", buy a tight, fast platformer, play it, it's a fucking masterpiece, stop after 2-7 hours, buy a new shooter, play it, it's really cool and exactly wha
