Yeah, I put off getting it for so long because that regional pricing is crazy, but with the winter sale on it's not too bad and with the scope and polish of the game, I feel like it's worth it.
It's a lot like Persona, sometimes uncannily so, but it's also a lot better and adds plenty of new things to the mix. I liked Persona but got burnt out of it. Metaphor's reminding me of what I loved about the series.

It really does. It got shades of Shin Megami Tensei's law vs order thing but it's a lot more complicated. Sometimes it's a little too in-your-face, but it's very earnest.
It also got the best writing out of all of Atlus's games, from what I've played so far. Insanely good English voice acting too, perfect pitch and characterization.
| It's...good but kind of not as great as I expected given its supposed to be a love letter to the entire SMT/Persona/Summoner saga. Love Heismay. Love Eupha. LOVE Hulkenberg. Strohl got annoying.
7.9/10, definitely not disappointed and I'm playing it through again but idk mane. It's missing the sauce...cant wait for ReFantazio: Redux to drop with the other 30% of game and a Rhoag party member (Maria when???)

Strohl's my favorite so far so maybe that's a big factor why I like the game overall. The thing that makes him annoying (the intensity of his emotions, the melodrama) is also a big part of the game proper.
Honestly not sure what sauce you might be missing otherwise. Gameplay-wise it's great, made me pull some fun strats, but tbf I'm not too far in the game so it might get dull after a few dozen hours?

My laptop is definitely too weak for the game and it's not on sale on Xbox, but if it ever gets like a 50% sale or something and I have the money then I'll 100% grab it

| Took the plunge and got this from the winter sale and g/u/rls... the game is actually so good. The characters are fun, the combat is neat, the UI is so beautiful I can spend hours just opening and closing menus.
I know we only have a few days left in the year but this is honestly looking like my game of the year.
