But sounds like a bunch of woke who can't ever succeed and I'm gonna start a platform to do this for different friend groups who already know and trust eachother to use powared by ai and steal all the money from the no social mobility people of the UK and buy a gigantic pool that I fill with gasoline and burn it every day to terreform the planet unless someone cuddles me ok I'm tired
| I didn't reflect much on their choice of game for this month but picking a game with a female lead of color and making the club pay walled and donating 100% of the profits to "woke" causes was a 200 IQ move. The place is already awesome and gatekeeping the immature brats is the icing on the cake.
| Sounds great and that's a really good stack of participating publishers, but I'm confused how it can be "everything goes charity". I guess the participating publishers are giving the games for free?
I checked the charity and it seems to feed back to the gamedev scene, so it's a win-win for publishers, I guess? I just don't know how sustainable it is when the gamedevs themselves aren't being paid.

I'm giving it a try because I want to make more friends I guess. I don't seem to vibe with most easily accessable sites anymore (such as this one) because honestly I'm sick of all the noise and low-level bs and the only other communities where I feel at home are either mid-tier hacker communities or tolkien stuff. I really like the idea of a book club and the fact that the next theme is noir/detective games is a big personal plus for me.

That's why it should be like a service for friend groups I think, maybe with different games suggestors you can choose, or manual choice by group leader rather than only one feed.

Here we're paying to both get the books and also to get into the community which might be iffy to some.

yeah! there was the famous opras book club I think in the US in the 2000s, I've only heard tell of it, but I guess there was this increadibly powerful black lady named opra who used sissyt hipno to get back at the white man by entrancing millions to watch her and made them buy the same books, but I don't think they discussed it? and then she was overthrown by the coniving white witche ellen who was lesbian but actually hated queer people!

| I mean, it's $5 and everything goes to charity. Every month you get a free game and after you finish it you can discuss it with everyone else who played it at the same time as you. Is interesting desu. slowgame.club
