How come people in America r so noided about minor age gaps?
| For one thing, could you even tell the difference between a 15 yr old and an 18 yr old if you made them stand next to each other? I can't, and I'm in high school right fucking now.
| during the developmental stages that are the teenage years, there's a lot of growth in just a handful of years, and thus a noteable difference in MATURITY between a 15 and an 18 year old, especially since an 18 year old is likely graduating, working a job if they haven't already, and doing all these things a responsible adult should do, so there's a difference in life experience as well. This same difference is also the issue between an 18 year old and a 25 year old.

| I've noticed this among Westerners, and especially Americans, that minor age gaps as small as 4 or 5 years freak them out. All of this totally arbitrary crap about how a 15 yr old cant date an 18 yr old, or an 18 yr old cant date a 25 yr old. Like, I've seen people call them 18 yr old 'men' when the talk is about dating a 15 yr old, and then they're referred to as 18 yr old 'boys' when the talk is about dating a 25 yr old. Couldn't you be consistent, at least?
