Disabled coexistence

| I have autism, OCD and some physical issues. My girlfriend has ADHD and some stuff too

Something living with her has made me realise is how simple coexisting with disabilities is. It's honestly kinda shocking. When you got "special needs", even if you're aware of it or not, it gets engraved in your brain that you're a burden and hard to love. That taking those issues and shit you got cause of it into consideration is a really difficult thing

That's such a massive lie though

| We both struggle with executive dysfunction. Growing up I'd be yelled at til I cried for that. In adult life I get labeled lazy and rude for it. But whenever one of us can't do something cause of it, the other one just does it
If one of us is going through overstimulation or a breakdown, we just make a comforting environment and give space if asked to

Similar, extremely simple solutions is the case for everything else too. Takes little to no effort, so I really don't get what..

| the problem is for so many. This experience has made me realise to an even bigger extent how common ableist mindsets are. We're now living such happy and comfy lives cause of those tiny little things and openly communicating about those needs

Obviously, there are plenty other disabilities out there, some "more severe" etc, but ngl it seems like just basic human decency is all that's required in every single case. So weird that that's just not common

You're kind of asking a lot tbh, that's some rare and hard to come by shit there
