Why do we seem to dislike all death, not just people?

| So, I've had a bit much to drink and have gotten curious. A dangerous combination.

Why do we seem to get sad and or dislike all death, not just the death of humans or animals closely connected to humans like dogs.

Personally, my trauma is shamefully worse from when my dog died than when my dad killed himself but that's not really what I'm talking about.

Why do people dislike death so much that some of us become vegan or sad at the idea that fossils had to die to be preserved?

| You ever heard of empathy?

Also insects can go kill themselves, I don't fell bad about them dying

| I think it's connected mainly to two things
1. People are scared of death cause of existential dread and all that
2. People have trauma from losing loved ones, so thinking about the feelings whoever might have loved the whatever that died reminds them of their own traumas
It's very understandable why those things would make someone feel awful, but it is a little bit silly imo

| you should. an absence of insects would mean expiration on plant ecosystem, thus himanity

| >>dfa824 insects are cool!!! My mom is always really sad when we find a caterpillar because she used to build little houses for them every week when she was little and now its rare when we find one per summer in our garden :(
