I think the animation in Lackadaisy is AI Assisted. There's nothing wrong with that, it is the new workflow, I just wish in this early stage they were more transparent about it.
The anchor lines that flicker and appear at weird moments for single frames make me think this. For a production that polished, "editing mistakes" that are so common while adding nothing to the theme make me think it's not intentional.
The crew may not know if the finishing studio used AI too...

A lot of work was clearly put into it but a lot of animation gets handed off to diffrent studios for inbetweens and the final master. I think that's where the "monster in the machine" lies.
The production crew might not even know if AI was used if AI was used offsite.
Animation mastering AI existed for 3-5 years now, and it's to the point where mastering models can be trained by offsite finishing studios.
