How do you motivate yourself to get up and do things?

I've always struggled with getting myself to be productive, it doesn't have to be with things that I have to do like work, it happens with things I usually enjoy doing too and even if there's no pressure to do them (especially if there's no pressure). Simple things like buying food or cleaning the house are also a problem.
Do any of you g/u/rls have ways of getting around this that work for you? If so, please share them <3

I feel the same way much of the time. Being more consistently physically active has helped me a little, but not a lot.

I find getting desensitized to stuff that wastes time is a good way not to waste time. Like eating too much sugar until you're sick.
You need a dopamine detox and hit rock bottom. Spend more time with or move in with someone. Being around other people can bring out your better qualities.

>>896625 I mean when I "hit rock bottom" I usually go for the first thing I see as an escape, which is usually unproductive. Do agree with the latter tho. When I went to visit my family for two weeks, I found It was easier to get myself to do things. I think it's that I was in an environment that I didn't associate with being unproductive.

If you can't just straight up move. try going to/doing those things in a different place(IE library, park etc) You could also just try and change the look of your home to make it unfamiliar or look at places in there where you are frequently doing nothing and make them as annoying as possible to be in(Like trowing a bunch of junk on your bed, couch, etc)

For me it's being very "future results" minded. I do productive things because I can visualize the timelines just ahead of me where I do nothing and where I do something. The natural conclusion is that the future in which I do productive things is a better one to be in, where I am more powerful in many senses. I am very compelled to ensuring I end up in these futures rather than the bleak ones wherein I did nothing.

Simple example, when I notice my home is a mess, a decision occurs to me. I see two different worlds 5 hours into the future. One in which everything is still dirty and miserable because I did nothing, and the other in which everything is clean because I did something. It's easy here to choose which world I want to live in. I then feel compelled to act and make it my reality.
All in all, envision the consequences is what I'm getting at here.

I found a hypno audio on reddit a while ago about how "good maids take care of themselves so they're ready to serve" and I listen to it every week. it's a little weird, but a lot better than trying to do it on my own.

>>896583 Buying food is the hardest thing in the world for me to do. I can't handle how many choices there are. It leaves me feeling crippled and mentally exhausted even choosing something from a menu when going out let alone trying to pick from a HUGE amount in a grocery store.

like dude, how about not motivating yourself to do shit. you say you enjoy doing some things, but if you, instead of a nice fitting cup of coffe in the morning, drink fucking 3l of blackest most overboiled roasted shit because LORD DO I FUXKING ENJOY COFFE - you probably not going to enjoy it much. you cant force yourself to do shit. it just doesnt work, and if it does - the most miserable ingenuine fucking thing this "doing" is.
