How should I tell my fiance's parents that their daughter is gay?

I'm getting married in December (rings for Christmas, woo~) but my fiance's parents don't even know she's gay much less that she's engaged. How should I break the news to them? Because she won't, apparently, and I would like them to attend the ceremony at least..!

Uhhhh... I don't know much about her parents, but have you both suggested something that would tell their position about lgtb people?

If she doesn't want them to know then you shouldn't tell them. There might be a very good reason for it and people should come out of the closet to someone at their own terms when they feel the time is right. I get that you'd like them to be there for it, but I don't think it's a good idea to tell them without her approval.

Approach them, and declare "your child is gay and will now be married to me." Why is this so difficult?

Coming out of the closet is a very personal & serious decision for a lot of people (she may also have very good reasons not to).
Kicking her out of the closet on her behalf removes her autonomy in this *very* important choice--big nope.

Why would it trouble the parents even in the least to tell them that she's gay? I know for a fact that most parents would like to know that their child is happy
