| I think it has to do with algorithms,like they see /a/ as the first board and then post whatever link/ad in there. Though they are probably quite simple bots meant for general spamming of advertising and not dedicated in any way. So they are simple and /a/ is the first board in alphabetical order so that is probably why they spam there. It seems annoying though the alternative of an annoying captcha at the expense of a maid being annoyed a little is 100% worth it.

Also captcha isn't the only alternative. Rename /a/ and/or create another board just for spam. Something that'll catch algorithm's attention. /0/ may work, idk, it's possible to find out what works with some experimentation.
