What are some good movie directors to check out from Mexico?

>>742713 Most obvious one is Guillermo del Toro, but I feel like I'm telling you to try out bread, it's almost a universal name now. Not so obvious but big names also: Cuaron and Iñárritu My personal pick would be Ruizpalacios, he has made two underrated bangers.

>>742711 How often do you have to keep the presence of drug cartels in mind during your everyday life? Is the Mexican-American war a big deal for people in Mexico? Have you ever had Taco Bell and if so what is your verdict?

>>742720 I live in the capital, which is Mexico City, so I don't really worry about it, it's more of a trouble in all other states, and even tho shit is always happening you never hear about it in the moment, if you stay away from the main cities controlled by them and you are on the look out for military conglomerates you should be good, it's not that much of a free-for-all war nowadays, and thank god, it's just something to be wary of.

>>742774 also yes, op here, my I'd changed because I'm using another WiFi network, and as a Mexican talking about the cartels, it's always good to remind our ex-president Calderon of his mother, because he ignited that fucking war, fuck you Calderon and chinga tu madre.

And Taco Bell... Never had it, it doesn't seem that bad to me, it definitely ain't a taco but if it's just patty meat and veggies in a hard shell, it can't be THAT bad... Maybe someday I will try it and have to eat my words, or maybe not, will see

Post number #742839, ID: 5f3a92

>>742800 At least to my knowledge, Pulparindo, Mazapanes, anything tamarind and spicy related and gummies...
Least popular ones, I don't really know, it depends on the age of the person, but a lot of traditional candies are losing popularity

>>742918 Meh, there are other things in life than sex, and I had been struggling with both my physical and mental health these last years so, I don't really care about not having sex in 4 years.

>>742914 Yeah, it happens, and his origins here aren't that great, he fleed the country because in 1998 a cartel kidnapped his father for about 72 days. Fortunately the ransom was payed and his father saw him win the Oscar, but yeah... Fucked up shit...

Why are people in spain speaking mexican? Did u invade them or something
Post number #742951, ID: 87c87b
|
>>742950 They invaded us, back in 1600's. We speak very differently since a little region of Spain that spoke "strange" is from where most of the people who colonialized came. So in LatAm we speak "bad Spanish" because the ones who didn't know how to speak it taught us, but now we are the major part of Spanish speakers and people think Spain speaks Mexican or shit like that.

What's your opinion on Spanish from Spain? Does it sound weirdly posh or something?
Post number #743049, ID: 87c87b
|
>>743047 It does sound really weird to me, almost as if they were taking the accent and didn't know how to pronounce a lot of words, but it's mostly harmless, what I do hate is that the fuckers over there have a tendency to do the worst translations ever, we laugh at them for it, because holy shit they are so bad. Fast and furious has a literal translation here: "Rápido y Furioso" in Spain it is "A todo gas" meaning something like "Full Gas" unbelievable...

>>743049 Yeah even in Spain they mock how colorful titles are translated.
