I got a day off yesterday and I spent ALL of my day opening and closing games on my laptop. Like, from 8AM-10PM I was there, doing absolutely nothing, only getting up to dinner and snacks. I work part-time in front of a computer, play guitar using the computer as reference, read on the computer, watch anime/movies on the computer. What else can I do ?!? I want to know how do you g/u/rls, get out of this cycle.

This is how society is now. The internet is the brain's third lobe. If you feel this way I suggest making a concerted effort either daily or weekly to disconnect and just go for a walk or chill somewhere if possible. Pandemic sux but if possible also try and talk to people in person, conversataions can be fulfilling and a good way to spend time, and connections matter.
Whenever I feel that way I get up and do house chores, maybe cook and work out a bit. I hope you feel better :3

Is this supposed to be a problem? I work from home using my computer, so I'm in front of my PC most of the day.
I do a lot of console gaming too though. And I like to read books away from the computer. And I do some exercise outside every couple of days. I also get generally restless and have to take a walk every hour or so.
Ok maybe I'm not in front of the PC that much.

Try ingress. It's less computer-oriented and gives you exercise.
Unfortunately if you don't have money, isolating from a digital device is extremely hard. Physical stuff costs money, but you can just pirate everything digitally.

>>739667 honestly i did studying IT and now Media, and i feel that Internet is in some way place as anything else, just is built from binary instead matters.. idk it's can be judgeful, you can do what you want. Some people are for example building thousands pieces puzzles, what personally (to me) sounds like as terrible grind and time wasting.. but it's subjective, if person like it why not ^^ [1/x]

>>739667 if you really don't want spend your time on computer you can do some compromise, work you probably can't change if is computer necessary, but you can print things for guitar, or buy learning books, using media box and watching tv (if it's different to you, but practically it's same, you will still watch media content) >>ca0347 good point btw ^^

>>739670 Well, for me (in my case) it is, because it's literally all I do (and it's getting my back fucked up), I'm kinda feeling like im not in the "real world" anymore, maybe someone here can relate with this feeling

>>739699 honestly i feel that it's a bit future of society.. i don't judge if good or bad, but i believe that future is in something as GitS.. but truth is that i do believe that humans body is little like biological computer and so, what have potential to be upgraded xd You can may little read about transhumanism, minimalism and about definitions of reality and information.. If you are reading news frequently, i some way you are more in reality than average of society and so ^^

Some time ago I had no problem with spending too much time online because it was good, I was happy. But now it isn't fun anymore, I just mindless scroll and open games I won't even play. It's like I've forgotten how to live outside of my bedroom

I had this problem last year where I felt I couldn't escape my PC. So I started going outside and drawing plants. That helped me focus on details of a living object and hence give value to the outside world more. Later found a cheaper used book store so I could read outside.

>>740113 That's really cool, I used to draw a lot, but only using pictures from my PC as reference :b, drawing from real life looks so hard though

>>740121 I'm an artist, but really I just go out and draw just to study the things I see. I'm not trying to draw well if that makes sense. So I say don't feel intimidated
