| Today's client is elderly. Been with abuser/husband since 1970s. He used to slap her around and threaten her. Now he just demands sex or else he'll evict her. Daughter is absent addict who dumped grandson in her lap. Wow, such family.
I tell her I'm proud she stepped forward. I congratulate her on finally wanting to divorce and get restraining order. 40 years... and now her dependency and despair begin to end. The path is tough but the lawyer can guide.
