I kinda miss how this place was when it was more active, not gonna lie.

I spend my fair bit lurking and not being active in discussion sometimes, I just end up spending my time playing Unfortunate Spacemen and reading a few threads when I'm dead ingame.

But I guess some threads are at least of decent quality.

I mean, it would be more active if you weren't inactive though, you know? Of you want this place to have more threads it's not hard to make one.

>>719843 Isn't that literally the definition of "being active"? That there are threads and posts?

If this place didn't become a bonobo center, it might be more active. Now the only way to tell whether a post is a bot's is because bots posts things of higher quality than so-called humans.

I kinda miss when there was less people but nicer, more active people.
It used to be a really small community and we didn't need mods to deal with spam or assholes trying to tilt people. It was just a tribute to VA-11 HALL-A. Those were the days.

>>719865 But, it can still be like that, you know? Just be nice and never react to trolls, and then people are more likely to follow your example. Not everyone of course, but, that's why we have mods, right? This board has been a lot better after the last little sweep. Like, a lot better.

I also liked when it was more active, but people like their niche secret community

danger/u/ has done pretty well this past week. Activity and toxicity will continue to come and go.
>>719893 It's nice to have enough people to make it active, but it's also important to have the right people. It's better to advertise by being an app on Android that shows up when you search for VA11 Hall A than by posting links on 4chan. It's a lot easier to manage that if the board is rather secret.

I straight up have nothing to say or that's thread-worthy 99% of the time.

>>719905 Then you just haven't tried g/u/rl. I used to think that while I was lurking, and then I tried and now I make almost one per day.

I find that even something that's only vaguely related to the thread can make it a conversation, so even if you don't think it'll fit, just try and write it anyway.

>>719947 Exactly! It doesn't hurt to try. I've made threads that I feel like would be great conversation starters that have died immediately, and threads I just made because why not that have reached thread limit. You never know until you make it.

>>719846 my comment won't be direct reply, but a comparison that came to my mind. I heard so many times the phrase "you can change things", but in reality you don't really matter alone. If I was to vote for the next president (I'm not American), it wouldn't change anything. The posters and ads are for masses, but my vote alone has no significant value. Not the same situation here, but close enough. My single thread won't change anything, but if we all did, it would.

Well, if we actually need more active people that is. Personaly, I don't care about this board that much. It wouldn't not hurt me if it just closed up. I find this app when I have nothing else to do

Well, I started playing Va11halla this week, then I found this app, I really love the aesthetics and music of this chan and people here are really nice, but it's really hard to attract people to this type of niche

tbh I wasn't helping myself making this thread given how introverted I usually am here.

>>720604 And that exact way of thinking is why nobody ever does shit. It's called setting an example. But since everyone is too lazy to ever do shit they use "I'm just one person" as a trash excuse, and the reason why so many people don't vote is because they all think like that. When a couple million people all say "I can't change anything I'm just one person", well, I think you get the point.
For this board though, one thread does have a big effect because it's a small board.
