Tips for learning to play classical guitar?

| I've got this old acoustic with nylon strings that I used to try and play covers by tabs on, but it's been sitting around for a couple of years without seeing much action, because of this and that. Now that I have some more free time I kinda want to try and learn to play, but do it properly this time. I assume I should at least figure out how to read "proper" notation instead of tabs and find where the notes are on the guitar itself. What comes next though? Do I need music theory?

| I’ve begun learning to play classical guitar as well! Music theory would indeed help you to get deeper into any instrument, really. For lessons, I recommend the Web site Jamplay.com. It’s what I use. It offers lessons in many genres, including classical. You can start with the level 1 beginner lessons and move up to level 2 and then 3. Jamplay classifies genre lessons as level 2.
