Got an interesting topic here g/u/rls. Pretty simple, you're doing an exam, difficult for you but passing the exam means a lot for you. You tried your best, studied hard but it is just so difficult.
You get the chance to get the answers for the exam. The chances for getting in trouble by cheating are pretty low. And the consequences wouldn't be a big deal.
Would it be okay for you to cheat? If you studied hard, do you have the right to cheat?
Just wanna hear your opinions.

I'd say no. It's not my place to police what everyone else thinks, but it would also weigh too much on my conscious.
The "studied hard so I have a right to cheat" argument also falls flat to me. I understand others may have their circumstances, but that's like saying "Because I have been working so hard at my job, I gave the right to embezzle money since I didn't get a raise."
Circumstances might be different if it was threatening my life. But I'd rather choose to live honestly.

I'm studying pedagogy to become a teacher but tbh grades always seemed like lines in the sand, even more so now that I'm learning about the process itself.
The fact students are even considering cheating to hide the things they don't know really is proof that grading sucks ass. A good education system would want to establish feedback between teachers and students about the difficulties you have but grades are tied with your future career and livelihood so people end up cheating

If your grades can take a hit and it makes you feel good don't cheat but don't like fail the year over this one dumb exam

I would absolutely cheat but I would still make sure I understand the material after the test by studying afterwards

I would probably "half-cheat", like, get the answers from the test, and then try to understand why those are the correct answers. This way, when the time for the test comes, I'd be able to give the correct answer with my own words.

Take the answers and burn/delete them, all copies, for everyone. Including the grading key.

If school and exams weren't so retarded, the question would be harder. As a matter of fact, judging skills in a single exam is as stupid as doing it on a dice roll.

That's a hard scenario to put myself in, because I never gave enough of a shot to study or cheat. I just did it and got what I got.
If the grade meant a lot to me and consequences were minimal I would though. The school system is trash so I wouldn't mind breaking it.
