I've been keeping a journal since I got a nice notebook to do it in at the start of the year. I spend about fifteen minutes on it every other day or so. I think it's had a lot of benefits for me; it helps me wind down at night, and it makes each day a little bit more memorable. The best part, though, is how nice it feels to scritch the pen across the page, working quickly to form each loop or bend.

Ah, that's nice to hear! I've tried starting some diaries myself a few times in the past, but I'm far too lazy and inconsistent to actually keep using things like that

I've been keeping a daily-ish journal since *check notes* 2012. Most of it by typing instead of writing, but I still keep the piles of notebooks I've finished.
I'm not really consistent with it. Sometimes I can go whole weeks without writing anything. And the one time I pushed myself to write daily, I started hating it, so I stopped.
It really is very nice, though, isn't it? Just feels good to unload things into writing.

Ayy, same here! Though I wouldn't call it a journal or a diary exactly; I mostly write on my notebooks whenever things can get too overwhelming for me. When I feel sad, I let all my feelings out through writing. I also make sonnets on a separate notebook.
The best feeling about doing this is when you look back at the things you've written. You'd tell yourself, "Wow, so this is how I was back then." It really is a satisfying feeling.

>>703730 Yeah, it's kinda interesting to see how I've changed (or not changed) throughout the year. Sometimes it makes me feel sad though, like when I realise I've been dealing with pretty much the same problems for years with no end in sight.

>>703701 I feel the same way. I'm so inconsistent.

>>703730 I like watching my notebook slowly fill up with all the small bits of time I spend working on it. Soon, I'll have filled a whole notebook!

>>703699 I don't like recording things. I'm the sort of g/u/rl who cringes at Discord messages I made 2 months ago. It's the same deal with diaries and notebooks :(

>>703964 You don't have to read them again! Just writing them and then throwing them into the void also works.
